Delightful Dinning!

The restaurant is situated in L' Hôtel de la Cité and overlooks a pleasant garden that has lovely views of the ramparts, towers etc of La Cité. The building is impressive as is the cuisine! The meal, made using local produce, was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. The staff were... read more

This restaurant is first class with a one star Michelin rating. Food is like a work of art. Lunch is 39 Euro but includes all the wine you can drink. We had asparagus quiche, quail and pannacotta for dessert. Our table overlooked the garden and the service was outstanding. Worth the money.

We visited for lunch on a weekday. The food was excellent and the service attentive and welcoming. This was our first visit but it won't be our last!

This is my favorite place in Carcassone. I ate here again in May and can't wait to go back again. The secret here is the chef uses simple ingredients that are perfectly prepared then tops them with a sauced that is paired for the meal. The sauce is poured at the table and the meal comes alive. Not a drop... More

We spent a few days at Hotel de la Cite and enjoyed the wonderful restaurant here for our wedding anniversary several years ago. We were passing the area at lunchtime, so decided to head into Carcassonne for lunch, but didn't fancy any of the tourist fare restaurants or Cafe's which showed very average looking menus at 25 euros upwards for... We were enjoying our mini moon in this antiquated hotel and enjoyed an amazing meal here, 8 courses with wine on tap, including desert wine with a lovely pudding too. We were wonderfully tipsy without being too inebriated....brilliant, well worth it and a must do. Wold definitely return without hesitation.

Great setting within the Citadel and with the Hotel De La Cite. Beautiful gardens and a outstanding room where dinner is served. The service is slick and well executed . The food is excellent. However if I have one gripe it would have to be the sommelier . I understand he is very knowlegeable about matching the wine with the... More

This is a terrific restaurant in a terrific setting overlooking the small village below. The food was exceptional. We went for dinner and if I had one gripe it would be this ... the sniffy Sommelier .He put a bit of a spanner in the works. He immediately directed us to a 300 euros bottle of wine to compliment our... More

We booked into the hotel and booked lunch with the plan of going into the new Carcassonne in the evening but we couldn't even consider eating anywhere else. The value of the set lunch menu is absolutely ridiculous. 3 courses of perfectly executed food with accompanying wines and coffee (and a delicious amuse bouche) for €38?! If you're lucky enough... We went to La Barbacane and stayed at Hotel de la Cite. We ate at 3 different Michelin star restaurants on our two week trip to France. This included one in Paris and one in Amboise. I felt La Barbacane was the best. It is not to be missed if you can get to Carcassonne. I had the Fois Gras... More
