Wow!

Had a week in Carcassonne during the music festival and Bastille weekend but failed to get tickets for Lana Del Rey. While wandering round La Cite we realised the hotel terrace was right next door to the arena so hatched a cunning plan to eat there on the night of her concert... The setting is... read more

When you walk over Pont Vieux to a castle for dinner, that turns out to be a delight, then you know you have had a wonderful night. We both went for the taster menu, with my wife requesting for a veggie option earlier in the day which was accommodated for without fuss, but this being France, you might want to... More

This gorgeously appointed restaurant situated within the Hotel de La Cite is a delight on the eye, full of character , items of medieval art , sumptuous leather furniture , a library and beautiful views across Carcassonne and up to La Montagne Noire. Friendly informative staff with an easy style offering classy presentation of the food and drink. We were... More

Two lovely dinners with great food, great wines and outstanding service. The New Year's Eve dinner and the a la carte dinner were simply outstanding.

There were 8 of us at a round table for the 38 euro lunch. It was quiet being Monday. Beautiful log fire to keep us cosy on a wet cold day. Staff were most attentive, friendly and helpful. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal, beautifully presented although not piping hot. ...not a problem for me. Wine and water glasses were... More

Lunch for 38 euros including wine, water and coffee not to mention an excellent amuse Bouche,.cooked by a Michelin star chef.Service and food were elegant in every way. Wine and water were not limited to one glass. I suspect one would need to book well in advance especially in high season. There was a large party of local businessmen today which... More

A magnific hall, that will move you in the past, dressed with old chandelier, carpets, wooden ceiling. A high level and professional service accompanies appetizing meals, irrigated by some of best available wines.

We had a three course lunch menu which included wine, water and coffee for 38€. The service was superb, the food was beautifully presented and was delicious, wine was not limited to one glass per person and the restaurant was very elegant. As well as the above we were treated to an amuse bouche before our meal and tasty petit... More

We stayed on the 20th September in Hotel de la Cite and I had booked a table for two at La Barbacane. Upon arrival to the restaurant we were first ushered to some deep seats and made our dining choices over a glass of wine and some appetisers. The 10 course tasting menu with supporting wines was excellent, the service... More

The ambiance of the restaurant and the Hotel de la Cite is inextricably linked to its history and the character that comes with it. The staff are superb at doing their jobs in the most unobtrusive way making you feel like the most important customers there. We had the seasonal menu which has the theme of mushrooms and this was...
