'Le Menu' is recommendable, think of making reservation

4 of us went there, it was on the spot search from tripadvisor as nearby french midrange restaurant. Make a reservation we went there to check out the menu because one of us didn't eat porc and came back at lunch time we had to come back an hour later at 2:30pm because it was full. The name was the main draw for deciding to eat here and we certainly were not disappointed. Visiting in March meant that la cite was very quiet, we were seated and served throughout the meal very quickly. Both members of staff were polite and spoke enough English to understand our order. All 7 in the group ordered the set meal... More

We read the reviews on Trip Adviser and with so many restaurants to choose from we didn't know where to start! A very wise choice...we selected the "descouvert" set meal for €11.50. Excellent cassoulet with salad, bread, water and wine. Good service in nice place. Good value and would highly recommend!

Very nice place and very nice meal. Just go for the Cassoulet, you have some comenus with the cassoulet included, for 19 eur + service you have a nice Cassoulet with a amall salad and dessert. The meal is just fantastic and in Novemeber is a very tipical and warm food.

With a name like that it obviously specialises in the local dish of cassoulet. So of course we chose different! We had a set 3 course menu which was, i think , 16.90 euro each. The wife had onion soup followed by what she thought was going to be lamb's heart but turned out to be 'Coeur de lieu' (pollock... More

We were very pushed for time, not the best way to enjoy a lunch in France! However, I was determined to eat cassoulet again in an authentic location, so we selected this restaurant, and chose to eat outside in the enclosed courtyard. Although the weather had turned windy, it was quite cosy. We preceded the main dish - part of... More

We came here for an evening meal after a long day of walking around the medieval city. The service was fairly decent, the cassoulet was okay, but tongue-scorchingly hot and bland in flavour. I thought that being 'Maison du Cassoulet' I would be blown away by their signature dish. But it is essentially the same everywhere in Carcassonne - beans... More

Went to Maison du Cassoulet today for lunch. Being celiac and visiting France is not easy but the cassoulet recipe on their board appeared gluten free so we gave it a try. The waitress spoke to us about each item on the menu du jour and side dishes and their cooking techniques are very classic, pure so I was very... More

Middle of the road resto - I had their 29.5e menu, with pâté, magret de canard and pannacotta, along with a blanquette and a half carafe of house red, with a coffee to finish up with. The pâté was a little bland, the fries with the duck were a little soggy and the pannacotta maybe slightly curdled. Not bad, but not... More

Found this restaurant hidden away compared with all the other restaurants in "Le Cite" Carcassonne, friendly staff and the cassoulet was rustic and to the point brilliant, good price and a glass of wine and small salad to go with it. It was a magical visit to the old city, and to find a restaurant so special made my trip.
