Lovely food - nice place and good service

I am surprised to read two recent reviews which were so negative. We booked a table at this lovely restaurant last week, dinined in the garden and the waiter could not have been more polite and helpful - add to this, I enjoyed one of the best creme brulees I have had in a long time. Great atmosphere in Carcassonne Old Town. We had a delicious cassoulet , goat cheese salad, creme brûlée and a very reasonable house wine, service was excellent . Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner

Twenty minutes without a menu, we ask politely for outside table ,but they refuse to do so. Other non -asian customers have their menu right after they enter the restaurant, and they have no trouble having the outside seats. Really unpleasant experience.

You can sit inside and outside for meals. There were many empty tables outside but they didnt allow us to sit outside until we asked politely for many times. They didn't even give us menu and we have sat there for more than 20 minutes! Nice environment but very bad service and attitude toward customers was VERY unfriendly and rude.... More

We had a group of six dine for a late dinner at the suggestion of some hotel staff. The food was amazing. The house wines are reasonable. The staff speaks very little English but it's enough to get by if you know a little bit of French. There were items my party couldn't consume due to allergies and they were... More

we had a perfect lunch - huge fresh salad with pate and duck and a platter of cured meat. the with house wine is to recommand, same as the quiet hidden garden close to the church. as diner not much spectacular - the entrecote is same as most places in france - a lot to cut and little meat. also... My family including a 1 year old baby stayed one night inside the walls of old Carcassonne, overall 3 days in the area. We arrived late in the afternoon after a day travel. The day after ascension was cold, grey and very windy so we looked for a place VERY close by of our Best Western hotel with some good... More

Tiring of the inevitable cassoulets we thought the menu here promised some truffled delights. Descending the castle steps to the inside which was decorated with cod mediaeval artefacts, but in a charming fun way. The oefs en cocotte with foie gras and truffle oil actually caused instant addiction, and we bemoaned that we flew home next morning, so could not... More

We had the set lunch just before Christmas. Not many tourists around at this time so the set lunch menu had been reduced from 14 and a half to 12 and a half euros. This included a 3 course meal. We both had a lovely French onion soup to start, I had a chicken dish and my husband had the... More

You need to find the right door, as there is an entrance to another restaurant right outside. This place is right in a corner by the Aude gate and as you step in, it feels like Carcassonne of olden times. The theme inside is old and charming and there is an outside area for fine days which is located right... More
