Close to the rampart area of Carcassone we expected this to be expensive and touristy. Wrong! It is great value for money with fresh well cooked food. The Combinado sea food platter was huge and wonderful. Has a terrace garden for summer months and a medieval themed dining area inside. Thoroughly recommended

This COULD be the best dining experience in old Carcassonne with a little effort. It's a charming retreat that feels like it belongs in a medieval city. The recommended locally-made red wine was outstanding. The mussels were perhaps the best we have ever eaten. The salmon on the combo platter was overcooked despite our clear request for "rouge"; the Carcassonnais... More

Food was just OK and the service was fine but the leaf covered awning and damp chairs were disconcerting. Standard offerings that were large and somewhat uninspired.

Tucked away close to the chateau, dinner was in the garden at the back, which is shady and quiet but which could be so much more attractive, given a little effort (stained canopies, big lamps strung on cables and a shabby, earth-covered dining area). The birds serenaded us at twilight, which is more than can be said for the woman... More

Ate here two nights out of the four we were in Carcassonne. The menu was varied compared to many of the set menus at other restaurants within the cite and it didn't seem to be just aimed at tourists. The staff were excellent and made us feel very welcome. The atmosphere was lovely and the quirkiness of the restaurants interior... More

Atmospheric restaurant, but spoilt by poor service. Did not order an aperitif or a starter. Did order a bottle of wine to go with our meal, but it did not arrive until after our main course had been served! Despite asking twice for it. Apologies given, as well as a complimentary glass of muscat at the end of the meal.... More

Enjoyed a great meal here. A starter of Razor Clams a la plancha was delicious and the main of whole roast pigeon was a real highlight. Very nice surroundings and a friendly family run operation, I will certainly return.

We were a group of four who ate on a Friday night. The restaurant had a lovely ambience and the food was delicious. Scallops, fillet of beef & the chocolate cake was probably the best i'd ever eaten. To top it off as we were the last to be leaving, the owner invited us to stay for a night cap... More

I tried this restaurant because Kate Mosse recommended it. Bit grubby, and full of noisy tourists. Food alright, I chose something safe. But I felt it was expensive for what I got.

We waited an hour and a quarter for our starter, and by that time we had drunk most of our wine and eaten the bread. The food was OK but nothing outstanding when it arrived. We had to ask 3 times when we would be served our meal. Overpriced and overrated.
