Good lunch option

This lovely restaurant is down a pedestrianised road between Place Carnot and Porte des Jacobins. They have nice outdoor seating on the street, and inside looks good too. We have just spent a week in carcassonne, this is a fantastic side street place to eat or just have a coffee. I'm really surprised that someone said 'its basically just a pizza place'! I didnt even see a pizza on the menu. We had some amazing simple, tasty, good value food here, with great staff. They are closed on... More

I visited with a friend midweek for dinner. We had the 21.50 euro menu for 3 courses. I had goats cheese salad, cassoulet and cafe gourmand. Food was very nice and waitress was very helpful.

Hotel recommended this as not expensive and nearby. Hadn't realised it was basically a pizza place. Ordered the steak which was most expensive but only thing I fancied on menu with a pitcher of rose wine. Had to ask for a wine glass. Waiter seemed to take a long time......then came back out and took one off a nearby table... More

Very welcoming and the food was delicious and unusual. I particularly enjoyed the small pile of finely grated carrot and ginger in the salad which accompanied my cheese omelette! The lunchtime meal was inexpensive and excellent.

well we found it - the best cassoulet we had in Carcassonne very very good, bowl licking good. Staff were friendly and knew their menu, service a bit slow but so what the beer was cold. A meal I wont forget in a little place not on the tourist track. Great just do it

Asked for a salad which took quite a long time to arrive. When it did, the greens were fresh and the dressing quite nice but the hard boiled egg was unacceptable as the egg yolk was almost totally dark green. I pointed that to the waitress who took it back, never to return with another one. When I asked, it... More

I love cassoulet, and have gone so far as to make my own duck confit so I can spend two days making cassoulet. Before my trip, I found a website "routedescassoulet.com" which lists 23 restaurants in the region which are certified by this group. Three of them are in La Cite; none are in the ville basse. I decided to... More

Small, family run. Owner was excellent. Service superb. Food was exactly as one would expect for the price(€60) three courses and a bottle of excellent Fitou. Had confit du canard which was superb. Salmon also lovely. Would go again. Away from main square so quiet and discrete.

Very friendly, helpful, waiter/owner who was happy to make enquiries with the occupants of the table he proposed to seat us next to, to ensure we would not be subsequently disturbed by cigarette smoke. We weren't, and ended up making friends with the two Canadian gentlemen diners next to us who informed us that they'd dined here several times before.... More
