We found this restaurant by chance, wandering the streets of Carcassonne in mid-October on the last evening of our holiday. Most restaurants were closed or empty, but in contrast La Comedie was nearly full at 7pm, so we decided to try it. Staff were great … friendly and helpful, and not at all impatient with our queries about the various... More

This is a superb cafe. The interior red decor may not be to everyones taste but I liked it. This howevr would be the only concern, other than the beer beeing kronenbourg (nothing wrong with that) rather than Pelforth. There in end the issues. The staff are extreemly friendly and welcoming. Their english is better than my french, make the... More

This restaurant is an excellent place for outdoor people watching, being central in La Bastide. You will see 'tout le monde'! Not a massive menu, almost brasserie style, but what they do, they do very well. Half litres of beer reasonable, and a carafe (1 litre) of very good red wine is amazing value at Euros 7.50. Staff very friendly,... More

We arrived in Carcassonne late afternoon and most restaurants in town were closed for lunch but this place was open so we gave it a shot and were pleasantly surprised with the food, friendly service and very fair prices! The restaurant owner was very helpful and gracious. She went out of her way to make sure we had a very... More

Simple but very well cooked and presented menus. For fussy children there are basics and also well prepared specials. Good wines. Clean, relaxed, often many English families as well as French people. Has bar and TV and also quieter area at the back. Staff are lovely.

After visiting Carcassonne for a number of years we finally tried out this Bar Bistro, I am very glad to say we did! Stefan, Marie and Patrizia made us feel like old friends very quickly and it soon became our favourite lunch spot in Carcassonne. The food, the service was second to none even when they were full(nearly every lunch... More

We discovered Cafe de la Comedie quite by chance. On our night day in Carcassonne after a day of walking, we dropped in to try a beer they were advertising that we'd never heard of. It was Kronenbourg's "Wel Scotch" beer, and very nice - although also very strong! We decided to stay for dinner and were impressed with the... More

Ate here twice on a recent visit. The service and food were both good,a helpful manager, and a cheerfull polite waitress The food was served reasonably quickly ,both meals were hard to fault. The only downside was on both visits having to listen to English people on adjoining tables constantly moaning that the cassoulette " was very greasy". Funny that for... More
