In a very touristy town it's a pleasure to find a restaurant which serves good, simple food, well prepared and nicely served, with a range of excellent, fairly priced local wines. We enjoyed our dinner very much and thought it was excellent value.

This restaurant was recommended by a local. Three of the 4 ordered the 3 course meal and one ordered the rack of lamb which he enjoyed. My daughter and husband didn't like the salad or the cassoulet (which seemed to be a greasy bowl of beans with a big hunk of sausage and some duck at the bottom). I had... More

If you're looking for delicious traditional cassoulet this is the place to come! Delicious food, great service and very reasonably priced. Would recommend the 3 course option - I definitely didn't have any more room after 3 king-sized portions! Highly recommended.

This restaurant was recommended by friends of ours who travel to France regularly. We were not disappointed. The restaurant is charming and service good. We ordered the 40€ six-course menu. It was a lot of food without being overwhelming and a nice combination of fish and meat. Dinner started off with a small taste served on a spoon (not part... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local shop owner, It was an excellent choice, The restaurant offers a good selection of French food. Be just careful not to order too many courses, if you are not completely straved, since food is served plentifully.

In such a touristy destination, we were surprised to find so many restaurants that offered good food at reasonable prices - as long as you stick with their daily menu. We ate here on our second night in Carcassonne and were very pleased with the food and service. The daily menu was just under 20 euros and offered a great... More

This restaurant was recommended to myself and my wife in the hotel we were staying in. We ordered the 6 course menu. From the start it disappointed. We had to ask for water 3 times, our wine arrived down to our table while we were on our second course. Service was poor, with frequent mistakes. All that may have been... More

This was on our shortlist having researched restaurants in the medieval City on TA in advance of our trip. It's tucked away down a tiny side street so takes a bit of finding, but is well worth it. We stayed for a couple of nights in the medieval city. It's quite difficult differentiating between restaurants in La Cite and those... More

We also ate the Michelin starred Hotel de Cite and found our experience at de Lices just as good. We had the tasting menu which was great value and well cooked and presented. No rush at the table . A very enjoyable (and slighly inebriated) three hous. Would definitely go again if we had the chance

I had prepared a short list of recommended restaurants for Carcassonne , however I always like to check with our hotel for their recommendations as well . My thanks goes to the hotel for this one . With our handy little map we found it easily enough. It was not terribly far from the hotel . As we were perusing... More
