Great find

Unless you read trip advisor reviews and take note of the comments you would never find this gem. Unusual setting very friendly and interesting because of all the Art and nick nacks all of which are for sale. Food origional and very tasty. The team there really care about the customer. Davey

We went to this restaurant following a recommendation and certainly weren't disappointed. It is located in a residential area (so is not somewhere you would stumble upon without knowing where it is). The restaurant has a superb ambience with both outside and inside dining areas. The interior is quirky and arty with lots of items around for sale and serves... More

Booked this after reading good reviews, it's true you will think you are in the wrong place among residential streets but then you will find this delight, excellent staff, varied menu, delightful garden and interesting art. Lovely salads and entrecôte with delicious ice cream, so relaxed.

Another place that if you didn't know, you wouldn't find. We found it on the internet and booked before flying to Carcassonne. It's in the middle of a residential area so not where you would normally find something like this, but it's great once you find it. The outdoor seating is really funky, the food is great and reasonably priced,... More

Fantastic dinner in a garden hidden away in a residential cul-de-sac - you'll think you're in completely the wrong place but trust the map and you'll find a gem. The duck platter was incredible, with about five different cuts of meat for 20 euros, all laid out beautifully. Definitely worth finding but book a table in the evening.

We would never have found this place if it hadn't been recommended, it is so well hidden. Seek it out, it is worth it. The staff (owners?) were very welcoming and patient with our poor attempts at their language. The food was fresh, tasty, imaginative, well presented and cooked to our requirements. Steaks, veal, "assiettes", fish: all perfect. There's nothing... More

Lunch at Le Jardin en Ville hit the spot - great meeting place, relaxed atmosphere, good food and friendly service. The 'grande assiette' was perfect for summer lunch, fresh and delicious.

Went here on the recommendation of a local whilst on holiday, typically all the restaurants in Carcassonne close at lunchtime (12-2). Convenient. Le Jardin is bizarrely hidden away in a housing estate and essentially looks like you're dining in someone's garden, that said the atmosphere is very chilled and relaxed, the service is excellent, the food is fresh and excellent... Le jardin en ville was a surprising find, good in every aspect! The food was delicious and was served in double quick time. As well as this the staff were pleasant and attentive. The décor is outstanding and the whole theme ties in with the atmosphere. I am just sorry that we visited on our last night in Carcassonne, as... More

Spent a fantastic two and a half hours at this restaurant. The time sped by, with the waiting staff attentive but relaxed. We started off with the sharing platter which was excellent, and all four of us - including my 11 and 13 year olds - demolished the steak and veg for main. No kids menu, but it didn't matter....
