This place was recommended by our hotel but we were dissapointed on several points. The interior was oldfasioned and the athmosphere uninspiring. Basicly no athmosphere. Service attententive and we got very good advice with the wine. The wine card is extensive and has a good price range. The food was good quality but not terribly inspirering and what annoyed us... Recommended by our host as Les Logis des Ramparts (see separate review). Sometimes this can be a dodgy arrangment amongst business partners but this one came good. Nice unobtrusive service and the food provides the reason why French cuisine is world-renowned! Delicious and our bill was £70 including vin...a snip!!

We only had 1 night in Carcassonne and La Marquiere was exactly what I hoped for being in the southwest of France, Foir Gras and Cassoulet. The meal was excellent and the setting being in the walls of La Cité was fantastic. The Cassoulet was spot on and the Jamón ibérico was melt in your mouth amazing. After the meal... More

We slipped into La Marquiere rather wet and cold - and were welcomed warmly with a place to park our coats and umbrellas. The following meal made us feel so much better - and the service was just the right combination of friendly and elegant. I continue to be impressed by the bilingual abilities of so many in the service... More

Visited this charming restaurant with views over the walls of La Cité for Sunday lunch. The 3 course menu was €38 and was absolutely magnificent. The food was delicious and presented exquisitely. The service was impeccable and the ambience genteel. There are very good Michelin star restaurants in Carcassonne and the food quality and service compares very well with these... More

The restaurant is inside the walls of the medieval city. Atmospheric and agreeable. The decor is attractive , old stone, silk walls , one or two annoyingly bright lights but overall very pleasant. Snowy white cloths, sparkling glasses. Service from Florent was first class. He dealt with the strange ways of the rosbifs with aplomb beyond his years. An amuse... More

Small, very elegant restaurant. We had main course & pudding for 30 Euros -Good selection to choose from. Both had magret de canard which was probably the best we had ever eaten. Beautifully pink, with a peppercorn sauce. Potatoes & veg. Followed by yummy creme brulee. Bottle of local red wine - very delicious dinner

We went to La Marquiere in 2014 one warm July lunch time. 8 adults and 2 3-year old girls. We ate in the courtyard underneath a canopy and we all, including the girls, had a fabulous time. The food was great, as was the wine; the service was fantastic, the weather was superb and the atmosphere in the restaurant could... More
