On a warm August evening we opted to sit inside at La Marquiere, but on a cooler evening the patio seating would have been lovely. The decor with white table cloths, fine china and crystal while dated was tasteful and the atmosphere relaxed. Our meal began with a delicious amuse bouche of goat cheese and salami on toast and a... There was nothing wrong with this restaurant, just nothing special either. I had high hopes after reading the other reviews, but overall was underwhelmed.

We ate dinner here on Nov 1, 2015 on a cold and rainy evening. The ambience and attention to detail was meticulous, and superior to our experience in 1 and 2 star Michelin establishments. Reasonable price, great cuisine. My wife had fois gras appetizer, I had the lobster salad; my wife had the cassoulet, a regional specialty, which was spectacular;... More

We had read the reviews and decided it was the best place to go so we booked. The decor is old fashioned and rustique as is the cuisine. White table cloths and good service. Whilst the cuisine looked contemporary and tasted OK, it was old fashioned in style and flavour (heavy with lots of cream and difficult to digest). Decor... More

We decided to visit this restaurant after reading other reviews, and having a look at the menu outside. We had the three course menu with wine to match each course, everything was spot on, the food, service, and the restaurant itself. It felt like a special evening, we were in the restaurant for nearly 3 hours, so don't go if... More

We had to ask 3 times for the water, and food fell on the table while the waiter was serving the dishes. We asked for foie gras as starters, it came with 3 poor slices of sandwich bread! A bad presentation... The "cassolette" was ok and so was the meat but we didn't find something special in the rest of... More

We saw other reviews & popped in during lunch service to book for the evening & check the menu & prices. Our evening was lovely - the atmosphere, surroundings & the service were excellent. We got by with our highschool French & the waitress's English. The food was delicious - pumpkin soup finished with balsamic vinegar & croutons & salmon... More

This was my second visit to this restaurant. It really confirmed my first impression - great restaurant ! Yes, it is more expensive than the others in the old cite of Carcassonne, but the experience is worth it. Great service, great food, wonderful presentations! I would not suggest to go with kids, but for adults - don't miss it.

We were not made to feel welcome here. The menu outside suggested a fixed price menu but the reality was the somethings were up to €10 extra. We left without eating.
