We booked a table on line through Tripadvisor no problems.A small intimate restaurant which serves lovely French food.My steak with Foi Gras was sublime while my husbands cassoulet was not the normal that was served in any restaurant in the Cite, just the right amount using ist class ingredients. The best meal[probably the most expensive] we had on our break. If you are... One of our best meals in France. Spectacular wine - 2007 Gerard Bertrand Le Viala, not cheap, but a good value. Food was a bargain for the quality. Asparagus and lobster starters, were both great. Wife really enjoyed her scallops, vegetables in a pastry were particularly nice. My lamb shank (Off menu special) was the best lamb shank ever and... More

OK folks - this is not a tourist stop with a cassoulet and pitcher of boxed wine for a special price. If that's what you want or if you are afraid to open your wallet & mind, try elsewhere. This is real food, sourced locally, prepared to order and made with love. We had extraordinary raw oysters, boiled shrimp, veal... More

We had a fantastic meal here for my boyfriend's birthday recently. The restaurant ambiance and food is fine dining which was nice for a special occasion. I'd made a reservation and when we arrived we were given a choice of tables which was good. The restaurant is quiet and sophisticated but not too stuffy. The staff are friendly and left... More

This place was recommended by our hotel but we were dissapointed on several points. The interior was oldfasioned and the athmosphere uninspiring. Basicly no athmosphere. Service attententive and we got very good advice with the wine. The wine card is extensive and has a good price range. The food was good quality but not terribly inspirering and what annoyed us... Recommended by our host as Les Logis des Ramparts (see separate review). Sometimes this can be a dodgy arrangment amongst business partners but this one came good. Nice unobtrusive service and the food provides the reason why French cuisine is world-renowned! Delicious and our bill was £70 including vin...a snip!!

We only had 1 night in Carcassonne and La Marquiere was exactly what I hoped for being in the southwest of France, Foir Gras and Cassoulet. The meal was excellent and the setting being in the walls of La Cité was fantastic. The Cassoulet was spot on and the Jamón ibérico was melt in your mouth amazing. After the meal... More

We slipped into La Marquiere rather wet and cold - and were welcomed warmly with a place to park our coats and umbrellas. The following meal made us feel so much better - and the service was just the right combination of friendly and elegant. I continue to be impressed by the bilingual abilities of so many in the service... More
