We ate at this restaurant last week and did what you are supposed never to do eat, in an empty place. Why this place wasn't packed I'll never now. The menu du jour was great value at 12 euros for 3 courses with a choice of two items for every course. Everything was homemade even the frites which tasted lovely....

Set in a beautiful St Jean square, we were a bit put off that this restaurant wasn't as busy as the one across the square. But we are so glad we ate here. The friendly family service was exceptional (including free liqueur at the end of the meal) and the food was very good, too. Excellent cassoulet and duck dishes....

Charlotte and i were recommended this restaurant by our B&B owner who is French ! he said it would be good and it was, the service was very good with the table being yours for the night and no sign that you were hurried ,a nice touch was the water mist on the hot evenings, we went twice...

This is a small restaurant with good atmosphere, good service and very good food. The serrano ham, which was really nice, was cut freshly on a bacon slicer which stood in the middle of the restaurant. We had three courses and a very nice bottle of Minervois for 56.5 euros. In my opinion the best value in the city.

We found Le Creneau by accident and I must say it was a real discovery. The staff we really friendly and welcoming, and the food was superb. We lucked upon this GEM of a new restaurant on our only day in Carcassonne. They have been open for only two months but you would not know that from the quality of the food, staff, location and decor! It was a very quiet evening and we chose to eat outside on their front terrace which offers a beautiful view...
