This restaurant was a great find for us, there was live music, Spanish guitar, not my thing normally but it was wonderful, really suited the mood of the restaurant, it was cosy and romantic, the food was wonderful, we recommend thé local dishes.

Truly disappointed. The place looks good, especially with the fireplace inside and nice music, but the food was really awful, prepared with no cooking skills at all. I mean it.

Quality entertainment with a former member of The Gypsies playing and singing plus a great white bean and sausage dish - a local treat I hadn't tried.

If you only eat once in the medieval city make sure its at the L'Ostal des Troubadours. Easily missed (its next door to L'Escargot) it has a great choice of menus to suit all budgets. The food is fantastic, really high quality and is served by charming staff who cannot do enough to make your dining experience memorable. Fabulous little restaurant with two guitarists to entertain, and the 32 Euro Set meal was to die for.....4 x large Prawns the size of a small Lobster, Foie Gras & Duck Salad.. and the biggest steaks we have ever had.....all cooked in front of us on an open fire...followed be cheese and the desserts.....few... So good...we went back the following... More

This was a great experience which is sometimes difficult to arrange. We were a group of ten including two children. The staff was fantastic. They had our table ready when we arrived on a very busy night. Specialities are grilled on a wood fire so this operation dominates the room. You can watch your dinner being cooked. A great guitar... We got enchanted by the setting of this restaurant, like going back in time to the Middle Ages and the food was good too. My partner had a steak which he says was excellent, i am a vegetarian and i had a huge delicious fresh salad with some added extras. Crepes were delicious too.

An excellent menu and location. Like any restaurant in Carcassonne/France be aware that an open eating area means you could/probably will be next to a smoker.

7 blokes away on a golf break - touring the fantastic courses in this region - hungry and needing refreshment..... Whilst staying in the nearby village of Villemoustaussou at Villa Laffon - we ventured into the old Cite to one of our favourite restaurants. Always a must - we are too lazy to cook our own meals!! We can all... More
