Resting on its laurels

Good location in the corner of the market square. Service very much in the French hauteur style. Clearly a good spot for steak, but you pay. Excellent steak, nice staff, kind of entertaining traffic jam as the market was packing up. Would have been better without traffic, but the food made it stand out.

Went there after looking around the different restaurants in the square. This one looked interesting and clean, so we decided to have a try The environment and the service is very friendly and nice. The food was quite good, namely the onion soup I had as a started. My main meal was cod fish, which can truly recommend also. Other... More

I actually ended up going to this restaurant because I wanted to eat before 7PM and it was one of the few places open for dinner earlier. It was about a 15 min walk to the market square from where I was staying and the streets were clean and I felt plenty safe. The waiter was really friendly and was... More

We visited the Versailles location. Prices high, selections few, service poor. Accept only cash. Would not attempt to eat here again.

Unfortunately, this was recommended by our hotel concierge. What a disappointment! Starters were luke warm. My main course was fine (steak) but my friend's was really disappointing - scallops. I then ordered the apple tartin. It arrived insipid with pastry under cooked. I decided to ask the waiter to take it away and he apologised profusely. My companion ordered profiteroles,... More

The kirr we ordered was cassis with lemonade, far from how kirr should taste in my opinion. The olives tasted very odd as well. We were glad we didn't order any food here.

French cuisine is always regarded among the finest in the world. The problem is finding the places which cater primarily to the locals, not the tourists. Personally, I want authentic local dishes over those which are nothing more than an extension of what is found in the States (after all, that's what I came to France for!). Le Boeuf a... More

Excellent!!!! Awesome place and open late on the weekend. The waiters were attentive. And the food was great. The filet mignon was delicious and my husband had the lamb which was fantastic. Also, the snails were absolutely yummy.
