Perfect intro to Paris!!

I booked the dinner and cruise a month prior to leaving Australia. It did require a phone call to make a deposit by credit card, which was easy enough, as the person on the end of the phone spoke great English! We chose the cheaper of the menus, and weren't disappointed. We certainly didn't leave... read more

The food was excellent. Atmosphere was great, service was wonderful. The ship reminded me of a vintage yacht.... with the wood paneling of a boat made in the 1960s. Of course seeing the Seine after sundown, especially the Eiffel Tower lit up -- was spectacular. What made the evening so incredibly special was how we were treated by the staff.... More

This was my sixth visit to Paris, but my husband's first. I booked dinner on Bateau Le Calife about 5 weeks in advance for our first evening in Paris. The entire experience was 5 star. The food, the atmosphere, and the level of service were phenomenal. The location of the boat dock was very convenient in the 6th arr. We... More

I was looking for something special to do on my partners birthday whilst in Paris and came across the Bateau le Calife and its excellent reviews on TripAdvisor. Emails were answered promptly and telephoning to make the booking and pay the deposit was easy and very friendly. On the actual day of the boat trip, we were welcomed on board... More

Stunning food and great service. This is by far the best dining cruise in Paris - book well in advance to avoid disappointment.

It was difficult to concentrate on the stunning view when as a table of 4 we had to contend with champagne and a delightful menu (we all took the more expensive menu but both options looked excellent). You do not leave hungry. The wine list had reasonably priced choices that weren't the normal 2010 or younger. The service was excellent... More

We booked very last minute and were lucky that another party cancelled. From the boarding greeting to the multi-course meal, this was the best night in Paris after 5 days. The food was delicious and creative. There was not anyone on the loud speaker and the cruise was very relaxing. Being on the Seine at sunset was priceless. The romantic... More

Were going to be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary in Paris and were looking for a dinner-river cruise, came upon Bateau Le Calife. Very helpful company, answer emails promptly and have an easy to use web booking service. Can book one month ahead. We were not disappointed to have chosen Bateau Le Calife. Lovely atmosphere, no tour guide babble, small... More

Good service and food. What better way to experience Paris than a delicious meal while cruising down the Seine in Paris? Not cheap but watching the sun set and viewing the sparkle of the Eiffel Tower at night while having dinner made it totally worthwhile.

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
