A beautiful evening in Paris

A dinner cruise on the Bateau le Calife was one of the highlights of our recent visit to Paris. We opted for the more expensive menu, which included more options. Together with wine and the sites of Paris, it made for a beautiful evening. We requested a table on the upper deck, but the front of... read more

I celebrated my birthday on board Bateau le Calife and it was a very special experience! The service was impeccable, the food was good and the views of Paris by night were unforgettable. I will definitely be back on this wonderful boat! The staff are great: I had questions at booking and they responded to me via email in a... More

Incredible welcoming by Alexandre. He even managed to guide my sister that was lost in Paris so she could make the departure time for our family reunion and our Dad's 80th Bday! The food was fabulous, the service very gracious and the boat ride showed many of the beautiful architecture Paris has to offer! A must go! Book in advance... More

Great choice of boat to have a meal and cruise on the Seine, a more traditional older type boat with character not like the modern bland ones available. Cruise lasted around 2 hrs although you can board the boat a lot earlier than the departure time. Arrived bang on 10pm at the Eifel Tower in time to see it sparkle.... More

I really cannot fault it. The boat is lovely, it's intimate and every table is a window seat. The food is gorgeous, the service is wonderful, the cruise is beautiful. The boat takes you past the Eiffel Tower as it sparkles at 10pm - very romantic. Highly recommended.

I booked this trip on line in advance as it was my partner's birthday whilst we were visiting Paris recently. The service was very good and I found the food excellent. It's not particularly cheap but the ambience and the superb cruise are well worth it.

I've read this before in reviews of Bateau le Calife and it's true. This is not an excursion boat that serves dinner. It's a very fine restaurant that happens to be on a boat. Our first night in Paris we celebrated with one of the best meals of our three weeks in France. Service was perfect, the food was elegant... More

Booked le Calife for our 20th wedding anniversary dinner during our weekend in Paris. Making the booking was very easy - sending the reservation online then phoning with the deposit. We arrived at the boat and welcomed on board and shown to our table. We were given our champagne and appetisers - which were small cheese choux buns and very... More

It may be a little cliche`d but what's wrong with that when on holiday. We enjoyed the luncheon cruise on this boat and everything was presented to a high standard. Not cheap, but we thought fair value in view of the overheads of the organisation involved. The food was most satisfactory and of course the scenery makes the mood. This... More

I thought dinner cruise on Le Calife would be an awesome way to share Paris at night with an American friend. Experience was wonderful. Easy reservation from USA. Extremely professional and friendly staff. Cuisine was very good. Trip was a great mix of breathtaking views on old architecture and fun night activities on the Seine river banks. Hats off to... Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
