Wonderful way to see Paris at night

We booked this trip as part of a birthday celebration in Paris. I was slightly skeptical about the high rating on Trip Advisor, having had some fairly rough meals on riverboats in the past, but this was far and away the best. The boat is beautiful inside, and the trip - starting with Notre Dame... read more

this was a must do for us on our first trip to Paris, and we were so very happy we did. I think we will do every time we visit. The service was wonderful, the food was above average for something like this, and the views were Amazing!! Not to be missed! The boat itself was so beautiful ! All... More

The boat trip itself was nice with lovely views of Paris. The staff were very attentive. The food however was very average, very limited choice, small portions and not what I expected. The dessert of apple pastry was not too different to a supermarket apple turnover, I expected better.

I admit, i love cruises and i thoroughly enjoyed this one. very beautiful sailing through the night lights of Paris, absolutely loved it. This review is more based on the food. If i am rating this place purely as a restaurant, then in my opinion it doesn't deserve such a high rating. The food is average at best for the... More

My number one guy has never favored dinner cruises or even a ride on the Seine; He has childhood memories of voyages from Brazil to America. Although this year, Valentines was different. To make me happy, he stole time out of his day at work to research his choice for our Valentine’s meal. He chose this magnificent péniche ! To... More

Wow. This was my favourite evening of our 4 day trip. The sights are incredible - amazing how different everything looks in the night time lit up. We sailed passed the Eiffel Tower just in time to see the light show, which happens every hour for 5 minutes. I felt a little cold with a long sleeved dress on, but... More

This was a great way to see the famous monuments along the river, whilst at the same time having a lovely meal. I personally didn't think very much of the salmon tarte but I was expecting a little more than just cold diced smoked salmon for the money. The goats cheese tart was nice and so was the sea bass.... My boyfriend surprised me and took me for a meal on the Calife in August 2013. The service was great, the food was delicious, and the cocktails were good too. The boat ride was perfectly timed so that when we got to the Eiffel Tower the lights were turned on, and we got to see many of Rome's sights from... More

My first night back in Paris for nearly a decade and the calife was a great welcome. Signposted from the quai and walking distance from a couple of metro stations, we were welcomed by the warm glow of a pretty boat. Far more inviting than the neon glow of the more modern bateaux mouches. The trip doesn't disappoint taking in... More

I had this evening dinner cruise booked for me as a surprise, I'm so pleased he did!! we approached the traditional woodern boat, moored up, with candlelight lanterns sparkling along the sides and was greeted by smartly dressed staff. We were seated inside on the right side, a cosy, intimate feel to it, people had dressed up, there was candle... More

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
