A pleasant evening in Paris....

Our visit was a special 40th birthday celebration for my wife and I in April 2015. As non-French speakers we decided to book the table online through Tripadvisor and thefork.com. I celebrated my birthday here with a group of friends in one of the private rooms. We had limited choice of food as a large group but the food was great. The venue is stunning - it's so quirky and intimate. The staff were fun and incredibly helpful. Highly recommended. We had great fun.

We ate here on our wedding night after our elopement so my wife could scratch her diamond on the mirror, that is the best and only good thing about the restaurant. If that's worth a $400 bad meal to you then this is your place, the food is sub par to be kind, well the rolls were good.

On a visit to Paris, we ended up canceling dinner at a top rated restaurant in exchange for Laperouse at the ratting recommendation of a local photographer we hired to do a photo shoot. Restaurant was a bit pricey, but if you value great food at a one of a kind restaurant you will absolutely love this place!

We were seated in an upstairs room with 3 other nicely spaced tables, 2 of which were also occupied. Nice view of Seine. Dejeuner menu includes a glass of wine and half bottle of water per person. Westarted with Champagne and saved the wine for the main courses. Excellent choices on menu..a zucchini creamy soup in shot glass amuse bouche... More

I made reservations in one of the private suites for two people. The room was great, the meal was supurb and the service was perfect. A great experience, one to be remembered by myself and wife.

Simply magic! The Place is a piece of French history, and very elegant. The Food is as French as it gets.

Laperouse restaurant is one of the parisian's mythic restaurant. Old fashion in the good way, the wall have kept the spirit of the XIX century. Jérome, the current director mades his best to propose high quality meals and the several dining rooms are "a must" Recently, you can just have a drink in the first floor and a DJ comes... More

This storied building will wet your appetite just imagining it's history, who may have been there before, and the titilating intrigues that it's walls have witnessed. We were greet by a lovely young lady and attended through the evening by a charming young man, Nickola. Anyone who thinks the French have attitude they're right, they have a joyously welcoming attitude... More

Let me begin by framing the context of this review. I have never reviewed a restaurant on a public site. However, I have experienced a broad array of restaurants around the world that have no stars and 5 stars and am not swayed by a rating when assessing the quality of a culinary experience. With that said, I am loathe... More

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
