Great discovery for lunch near Notre Dame

We happened upon Les Voyelles by accident when wanting to have a break for lunch before heading to Notre Dame. We couldn't have been happier with our luck. The menu for lunch was small - around 6 dishes - of which we as a family had 4 items and were very happy with each selection. Prices are good... read more

Loved it! It was the first beautiful day of 2015, so they had the doors open letting the most gorgeous weather and sunlight into the space. There were beautiful people sitting at the cafe edge sipping espresso, smoking cigarettes, enjoying the sunshine & each other's company. We had the tiramisu (which was the best of my life), a fantastic double... More

The food is fresh, and even if the dishes are not very original, they all have this small thing that makes the difference. The service is kind.

This place is a nice find, its small but the tables are well placed so it's quite charming. It's situated in a nice area, with a view on la seine, it's a good alternative to other places in the saint-germain area. They have an extensive wine list and their food menu is simple, I had a salty cheese cake which... More

Randomly stopped here for a quick glass of wine as it was raining and our bus had stopped opposite, great find. Meat and cheese boards are only 9EURO and great!

I've read a few reviews on here that mention arrogance and non attentiveness and I can't say that I agree with the experience I had at Les Voyelles at all. It was a friendly and really stylish little restaurant that I visited for a late lunch. I sat on a stool in the doorway so I got the view of... More

Having run around this great big city we were desperate for a glass of wine before heading off for dinner. The rain started to come down just as we were walking passed. Les Voyelles has a good selection of bottled alcohol to choose from as well as some nice wines. Food is limited to a board of either Cheese, Meat... More

We ducked in on our way to Notre Dame as we got caught in the rain, and asked if it was ok to just have a drink and when they said yes, we ordered a coffee with milk and a cold drink, they served us an espresso and the cold drink and when we said we asked for a coffee with... More

I was sad to see Quai Quai close, the restaurant previously here. However Les Voyelles is a great addition. A convivial round table for 5 friends, great meal with wine flowing. Not cheap but reasonable for Paris. Good to be away from the madding crowds of thé Marais.

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighborhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
