An institution known for its wine and sausages

My wife and I first visited this little wine bar in 1993 and nothing has changed in over twenty years. It has excellent wine selection, cheeses, and cured meats. It is not luxurious, but a friendly place for lunch or early dinner. We believe it is actually the best wine bar on the Seine. But you... read more

So, boyfriend proposed on NYE in Place Dauphine at around 3pm. We were pretty ravenous, and most of the other places in the little square (if you can call it a square) appeared shut, this didn't, so we made the executive decision on the spot and walked in. It was really rather twee. I loved it. Small and intimate, which... More

Stopped into this place by accident one night, wife and I shared a meal. was impressed enough to make a point to come by again a few days later for more. The staff were really helpful and welcoming, the wine was nice (this fantastic Gewürztraminer). the menu isn't large but what they do serve is good, first day we had... More

Average food, expensive. We had tartines for lunch and thought the quality and quantity could not justify the price. Good point: The owners were very welcoming and nice.

We finally visited Henri IV on our recent visit to Paris after having passed it by on numerous earlier occasions. The escargot which we split to start our meal was excellent - warm, garlicky and bathed in butter. We were recommended a bottle of the Morgon which was perfect for our meal; Pork and Vegetables and the Sausages with Sauerkraut-... More

We have visited this wine bar / restaurant on every trip to Paris. They have an excellent selection of wines. The food menu is compact and very authentic.

Had reservations, glad I did. Busy with locals and tourists who heard about the place. Small, so be prepared to get close with the people around you, but thats part of its charm. Set menu and daily specials, in English as well. Could image this being a regular spot if I lived in Paris, plan on visiting again when I... More

My husband had been here a couple times and liked it very much. Today was my first time and it did not disappoint. Best reason to go is the excellent range of French wines by the glass and the homemade plats du jour. Cozy, friendly, unpretentious...great location and very reasonable prices. A 'must' if on the Cite and one is... More

Just stopped off after a cruise on the Seine, so convenient and so cute. Really a wine bar with food, but the food was simple and excellent. Totally recommended

We absolutely love this place and make a point of visiting for lunch each time we visit paris. A meat platter, a cheese platter and a bottle of wine shared with family and/or friends in this truely unique french cafe makes any visit to Paris even better. Desserts are to die for and no visit to this quaint little place... More
