Average food, expensive. We had tartines for lunch and thought the quality and quantity could not justify the price. Good point: The owners were very welcoming and nice.

We finally visited Henri IV on our recent visit to Paris after having passed it by on numerous earlier occasions. The escargot which we split to start our meal was excellent - warm, garlicky and bathed in butter. We were recommended a bottle of the Morgon which was perfect for our meal; Pork and Vegetables and the Sausages with Sauerkraut-... More

We have visited this wine bar / restaurant on every trip to Paris. They have an excellent selection of wines. The food menu is compact and very authentic.

Had reservations, glad I did. Busy with locals and tourists who heard about the place. Small, so be prepared to get close with the people around you, but thats part of its charm. Set menu and daily specials, in English as well. Could image this being a regular spot if I lived in Paris, plan on visiting again when I... More

My husband had been here a couple times and liked it very much. Today was my first time and it did not disappoint. Best reason to go is the excellent range of French wines by the glass and the homemade plats du jour. Cozy, friendly, unpretentious...great location and very reasonable prices. A 'must' if on the Cite and one is... More

Just stopped off after a cruise on the Seine, so convenient and so cute. Really a wine bar with food, but the food was simple and excellent. Totally recommended

We absolutely love this place and make a point of visiting for lunch each time we visit paris. A meat platter, a cheese platter and a bottle of wine shared with family and/or friends in this truely unique french cafe makes any visit to Paris even better. Desserts are to die for and no visit to this quaint little place... More

Love this little place. We've visited Paris off and on since the 70's and this place is still a gem. Over the past few years we've been sad to see there are less of these places. Trendy over-priced bars are gradually taking over this market and they're a poor copy. Taverne Henri IV has great wines, great cheeses and great... More

Four of us went to the Henri IV for a light supper after watching the World Cup match at the nearby Highlander pub (also very good). We had read that Henri IV was good, but were forewarned that if you didn't speak French don't bother. Nothing could be further from the truth, at least in our experience! We made a... More

I discovered this little Bistro close to the Pont-Neuf years ago with a friend and did not find it again until my husband came with me to Paris. He knows his way around and so we were once again able to enjoy a lovely lunch at Taverne Henri IV. As was the case during my first visit, again only the... More
