Great place for drinking Caribbean rum and hanging out with friends

The Rhumerie is a cute little "gingerbread looking" spot with great West Indian ambience and a vast variety of rum drinks. Went with friends and we were all able to find a rum to suit our various tastes. One friend asked for and was served a Haitian rum he hadn't had in years. I love Jamaican... read more

We stopped by here for drinks. We did not eat here, but the food looked pretty good. We got mojitos and they did taste good, but seemed to be mostly ice. Another bar that we stopped by later actually had better drinks with less ice. They had a great selection of mixed and tropical drinks though. The place is packed... More

My husband and I met my six french cousins here for drinks before dinner. It's definitely a mixed crowd. We ranged in age from about 50 to 70, and everyone loved it. The drinks menu is long and heavily rum-focused (no surprise given the name). I had a very good caipirinha, My cousins all had mojitos and liked them. My... More

This place has been a "classic" for soooo many years, and it well deserves its reputation. The crowd ( try 7pm on saturdays !) ranges from millennials to former Presidents ! It serves good "french caribbean" restaurant food for lunch, but it's best known for rum cocktails... Venture in around 6:30 pm when some tables are still available, and treat... More

After we did the Catacombs of Paris tour, we decided to try this restaurant. We were not disappointed. Food is really good and by Paris standards cheap! I had chicken breast with fried sweet plantains. Delicious!!!

I always thought of la rhumerie as a student hang out. I used to go there when I was studying in Paris in my junior year. The crowd last night was mixed. There were definitely young millennial types but also adults. I had a Planters punch at the bar. It was as good as it was 30 years ago.

I have been here for a few times, with friends and colleagues, and I can't stop coming back. The environment is always very informal and relaxed, the staff are nice and helpful and it is (surprisingly) never completely full. The cocktail selection they have is wide and all the cocktails I have tried have a real great taste and uniqueness.... More

Nice place to hang out with friends. We had some Rum Royale and we loved it. Place itself has character and is well maintained. Staff seemed a bit rude or just didn't care much but besides that we had a good time there. Location is perfect if you plan to start a route on the Saint Germain boulevard. .

Quite possibly the best mojito I've ever had - lots of mint, balanced with lime and light sugar. Second visit. High quality and decent service even when very busy at lunch. Think of this restaurant as French Caribbean. Entre was tender large calamari rings, carmalized onions, in a yellow (Thai) curry sauce. Squeeze the lime over and voilá, a dance... More
