Les Pipos is a journey back to real Parisian bistro culture. With a clientele composed of regulars, tourists, students from the Sorbonne and administrative workers from the French ministries across the street, there is always a convivial environment and interesting conversations going on at all times of the day. You can have a traditional french meal inspired from Auvergene, Normandy and the South of France at any time until 11pm on weekdays and 11h30pm on weekends. Les Pipos has a diverse and particular wine list for all tastes. We work with wine producers who are invested in exposing the simplicity and exquisite nature of french wines, many of which are organic (no sulfur). The owner prides himself in serving fresh produce, so makes all his purchases in Rungis (the largest fresh produce market near Paris) and has nothing delivered. All cuts of meat, fish and vegetables are hand-picked by the owner himself. There is live music every Friday and Saturday. It is best to reserve on the weekends to guarantee a table. Payments can be made by cash or credit cards (visa, mastercard, debit) but we do not accept American Express however.

Second choice - no regrets!

This restaurant was our second choice tonight as we were walking through the streets in Latin Quarter next to our hotel. The other place was booked and we ended up at Les Pipos - it was a great misfortune! We had chicken with mashed potatoes, veal heart (a first for me - it was served medium... read more

Les Pipos remains an institution! The food and service is always great! It has a local following that drop in for drinks or a meal, to meet friends, and sometimes has some entertainment! It always is charming and they always make me feel at home! No oysters this time as they were out of season, but as usual it the... More

Tiny bistro with tables on the street of a little square. Absolutely first class beef tartare. Highly recommended! The steak frites is also delicious.

The best duck dish I've ever had! And great sparkling wine to go with it. Very French Bistrot. Friendly staff and owner. Highly recommend as its very difficult to find good restaurants in Paris as so many are touristy - this one stays true to its origins. Prices are reasonable.

This is not our first time to visit this restaurant. We were in Paris two years ago and again two weeks ago. The food is even better than what we remembered two years ago. We were in Paris for only three days and we found ourselves eating during lunch one day and again in the evening on another day. My... More

Don't miss this restaurant when you visit this part of Paris. The food is homemade and always top tasting and not overflowed of extra stash.

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
