Les Pipos is a journey back to real Parisian bistro culture. With a clientele composed of regulars, tourists, students from the Sorbonne and administrative workers from the French ministries across the street, there is always a convivial environment and interesting conversations going on at all times of the day. You can have a traditional french meal inspired from Auvergene, Normandy and the South of France at any time until 11pm on weekdays and 11h30pm on weekends. Les Pipos has a diverse and particular wine list for all tastes. We work with wine producers who are invested in exposing the simplicity and exquisite nature of french wines, many of which are organic (no sulfur). The owner prides himself in serving fresh produce, so makes all his purchases in Rungis (the largest fresh produce market near Paris) and has nothing delivered. All cuts of meat, fish and vegetables are hand-picked by the owner himself. There is live music every Friday and Saturday. It is best to reserve on the weekends to guarantee a table. Payments can be made by cash or credit cards (visa, mastercard, debit) but we do not accept American Express however.

Perfect lunch!

My wife and I popped in to Les Pipos for lunch the day after the Charlie Hebdo murders. The main window was almost full of "Je suis Charlie" stickers, photos of those murdered and cartoons from the magazine. I think that may have been what attracted us - clearly this was a place with an identity... read more

Atmosphere was good but the food was overpriced and under seasoned! We wouldn't go back to this place.

I've been living in Paris for over 12 years and Les Pipos is my favorite place on different levels. The food is fresh and the menu changes daily. From the starter to dessert, I love every dish. It is traditional French cuisine and cooked to perfection. I personally know the staff very well and they are family to me. The... More

I tried Les Pipos for the first time on a food tour with Culinary Tours of Paris. The restaurant was very crowded when we arrived midday on a Friday, and we were all seated in the lower section of the restaurant. I ordered the roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and it was fabulous. The wines were great, too. The owners... More

We popped in on a Friday right when they opened at noon after grabbing a cafe across the street. I am so glad we did! The food is delicious and atmosphere is lively. There were regulars greeted with hugs and kisses and the service for a few of us newbies was gracious. Despite how quickly the restaurant got busy, the... More

The food is good, service is fine. Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is very pleasant. We visited twice and both times there was music.

From a recommendation from our nearby hotel`s manager, 4 of us had a wonderful 3 hour lunch/ dinner. We were graciously greeted, seated and served by a very nice lady who spoke decent English, enough so to help us navigate the menu and wine list in detail. She served us with delight and honor. The food was extra ordinarily good.... More

This was our second trip here and managed, somehow, to be even better than before! A really great place to drink, eat, watch the world go by or chat to locals. An all round Paris experience - love it!

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
