We had a lovely meal at this restaurant, complimented by the good and friendly service.Good value and great quality. The restaurant is in a quiet street behind Notre Dame. Definately will return.By the time we left it was full, a recommendation in itself.

Very impressed with this lovely French restaurant, very close to Notre Dame. The service was good and friendly and the food was excellent. I would certainly recommend the sea bream for main course as fantastic. The starter of crayfish ravioli was also a treat. The salmon was also excellent and the zucchini soup was also fantastic. I would highly recommend... More

We ate here in the first night of our stay in Paris, and loved it! The waitress was very friendly and dinner menu was great value. I had soup, fish and creme brulee, and all of them vere excellent. Really cosy place.

We dined at 6.30pm and the place was empty, just us and a lady eating alone. However we were hungry and were made most welcome. The food was of a great standard, couldn't fault it. It was reasonably priced for the quality. The Pinot Noir was awesome and this was the best meal we had in Paris, with friendly yet... More

My wife and I ended up at this intimate gem near Notre Dame. Service was very good. We had their wine and cheese plate and fell in love all over again. What a romantic spot. Definitely no complaints here.

We were taken to this restaurant by a friend who had gone many times over a number of years, and had never been disappointed. My wife, who is French, and I have eaten in many places all over France and highly recommend this place. It is unusual for a restaurant a stone throw away from a major tourist area to... More

Au Bougnat is on the second street North of Notre Dame on the Ile de la Cite so, inevitably, tends to attract many tourists. However the food is a definite cut above the usual "serve them once as we know they won't come back" level - indeed it's pretty good. We went as a party of 8, with a mix... More

Neighborhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
