A Real Parisian Bistro.

Paris is THE city for a good bistro, and this one is a winner. It is not at all like the big noisy brasseries the city is known for. We came across this place after walking around Notre Dame, and immediately thought it looked inviting. As we wandered through the door the front bar was packed full of locals who had just finished their lunch. The place has a seriously old feel about it - low ceilings, dark timber, exposed brickwork, just gorgeous. We went through to the restaurant... More

I must admit, I would much preferred to have written an awful review about this place but I feel it best to be honest when doing these things. Firstly let me get the bad part out of the way because the good does far outweigh the bad. There was a young staff member here, who I think was the daughter... More

My wife and I ate lunch here on our last trip to Paris. Our B&B host made reservation and said that menu looked very interesting in that they served food similar to where she grew up in the Auvergne. Cozy atmosphere, busy but subdued. Good thing we made a reservation. Our reserved table was only open position when we arrived.... More

Incredible from the moment we entered. Cold as hell after visiting Notre Dame in January. Walked around a bit and wandered down a side street seeing this place on the corner. Looked inviting. Entered through the side street via the bar and was asked if we were there to drink or to lunch. We said lunch and were then led... More

Superb little place tucked away behind Notre Dame. Service was good and friendly and the food was excellent. Price was very reasonable considering the location including the wine. Our new favourite restaurant in Paris. We will Be back!

A small-scale restaurant in a side alley next to the Notre Dame. Tasty, fresh and non-pretentious food. Very friendly personnel. Great for a little break during the afternoon.

Visited this nice looking place for a pre New Years meal. Should have been told that it was a fixed menu before being sat at the table. Was pricey, but to be expected as location is in the centre of Paris, so wasn't put of by that and thought we would give it a go. The whole experience was very... More

Good service, good portions and fair choice. Had the salmon starter which was raw followed by pork which was tasty but pretty tough. Creamed sweet potato mash was very tasty. Didn't have desert. Like most Parisian restaurants this is pretty snug with tables packed in but with the beamed ceiling it does provide a good ambience. Price was fair for... More

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighborhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
