Good paella

Honestly my family liked this better than I did. We chose it as a one night break from French food, and coming from NY/NJ we just don't get much great Spanish food. I thought the place looked a lot smaller than in pictures (basically one very white, narrow room) and lacked atmosphere. Food was... read more

We stumbled across this restaurant on a walk and decided to give it a try. Very local place and we were the only tourist there. Staff very efficient and we had the best sangria and paella I have ever had in my life. The chocolate bites we had for desert were sublime

We were looking for a nice place to eat in Paris on a Sunday night and found Fogon in the latest issue of Fooding magazine. It didn't disappoint. The Maitre d' was passionate about his food and wine and we had a fantastic meal washed down with some really nice Spanish wines. While the restaurant wasn't very full on a... More

The Fogon is a well-decorated restaurant with a charismatic ambiance and has a high price tag to go along with that. However, with high prices come high expectations and, in this aspect, the food doesn't deliver. The chorizo could use a bit more pimenton but it's not bad. The chicken croquettes on the other hand, we're very good. More importantly... More

Tapas menu is really good. Interesting mixture of Flavors and Textures, nice presentation. Paella was average for 25 euro per person. 12 euro per bottle of beer is extreme. Nice to visit once ...

Hostess and waiter were very nice and attentive. Waiter took the time to discuss the menu with is nd make recommendations based on what we seemed to like. No complaints about the service. The food was fine, but nothing memorable. We had some ham croquetas and a lobster head soup (they only use the head for flavor and take it... More

We discovered this restaurant by chance. This place looked nice and inviting and the menu was quite promising at a first glance. We ordered a selection of five tapas-like dishes because we didn’t feel like eating a heavy meal such as paella. The first dish was a cold green tomato soup which was absolutely delicious. I wish I had the... More

We ate here with my husband's sister and wife on a recent trip to Paris and it was sensational. We wanted something special as we dont get to see each other often. The setting is modern and cozy. Have an aperitif- we each had a different one and they were all smashing! I had the sangria and fear I will... More

Fantastic four course meal for a reasonable price given the river front, central city location. Delicious twist on an old classic, fruity sangria.. personal favourite. Other half had the most incredible tasting beer too! Chief picked the tapas for us and we couldn't of faulted it, it was new.. tastey and beautifully presented. If your a bit of a 'foodie'... More

A really lovely place to have a meal. The meals are served as a collection of tapas-like dishes and gives you a wonderful experience of Spanish food. Located on the Quai des Grandes Augustines on the banks of the Seine, this is a very nice place to have dinner. The paellas are also excellent. I will be back. Recommended!

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
