A nice experience

Some things were a bit too much for me, we chose the chef's menu which is inspired by the painting. So in one meal we had fish, rabbit, rooster, frutti di mare, many different kinds of vegetables... For my taste a bit too much of a different things. But it is all very nicely served and presented... read more

Ok, I am a vegetarian and I had never eaten a Paella before (usually with sea food). The vegetarian option was simply delightful! Mouthwatering! The wine was also very fine and the staff are attentive.

I googled top restaurants in Paris and this one came up and did not disappoint. Located near the notre dame, this quaint restaurant welcomed us as we entered, talking to us in English. Our waitress was extremely helpful and gave us an english menu and explained the way to order (so ask for an english menu if you do not... More

We really enjoyed our dinner at Fogon. It's not the ordinary paella that you buy in the supermarket. Very fresh high quality ingredients cooked differently. We liked that the chef tied the menu to a painting at the Louvre - although a bit macabre. Service was great! We all agreed it was a keeper.

I was looking forward to eating here...I love anything Spanish. The waiter suggested we let the Chef select our food, it was a "deal". So instead of getting salumi and croquettes we had molecular type cookery starters and a gel dessert. I was so disappointed. The Paella was delicious. So stick to the a la carte menu.

The setting is beautiful, and it's conveniently located near Notre Dame along the Seine. The wait staff was efficient and professional and they offer menus in English (a big red flag, especially in a location so close to a major tourist attraction). We had some wine and tapas, starting with the chicken and cheese croquetas. They were warm and would... More

6 of us ate here for lunch. We had a variety of tapas dishes which were ample in size and of excellent quality. The service was good, friendly and efficient. The ambience was not up to much and neither was thview from the window which we thought overlooked the Seine but was obscured by hoardings so hence the 2G.....Good food... More

I found this place on Yelp while looking for Spanish food in Paris. We are Hispanic and were wanting to eat things with some of our familiar flavors. We loved this place, the people and service, as well as the are it is in. There was a group of 6 and we shared 2 paellas and tried some new things.... More

We were in Paris for a week, always having lunch and dinner in restaurants. This one was the best we tried. We eat five of the small dishes shown at the end of the menu.

If you want to taste high end spanish cuisine you should definitely try El Fogon! We ordered a vegetarian paella which was perfectly cooked and fresh. The ingredients are top and you really feel that the food is cooked to the order. Service is very nice and the location is exceptionnal by the Seine.

The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner.
