Eat, drink and be happy

Ate here twice as so good. Tiny restaurant, with friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Small menu and all the food is freshly prepared and cooked, down to the lovely raspberry liqueur served with the trio of desserts. Was no bother to open a bottle of wine just to have two glasses from it... read more

Had booked in advance (needs to be done by phone or email) which seemed necessary as became very busy. Good meal of traditional French specialities, but be warned the helpings are generous.

I have been to this restaurant a couple of times during my previous trips to Paris. We went to this place twice during this trip, for the same reason, their beef burgundy. The place is located near Chatlet, very central. Other than their beef burgundy, they have a very extensive wine selection. Also, try their clams. One of the appetizer... More

I had dinner here one night and the food was fantastic! The service was good too as the waitress spoke some English. Very nice selection of wines, great atmosphere, small place, big taste! I had foie gras (15E), pork chop (23E), gourmand cafe (8E). I found the foie gras to be quite good. The pork chop was very thick and... More

Recommended by friends we ended up in this restaurant with a group of friends on our arrival and only dinner in Paris , what a great surprise , ok the restaurant is full but dont get me wrong , customers are regular , not a touristic trap like you have in Paris in this area. The menu is simple but... More

This very popular restaurant has not many airs and graces. Small tables and usually full. It seems a local's haunt. Deliously food and reasonable priced wine. Only open Tuesday to Saturday.

I was on a business trip in Paris last week and after arriving late (for french timing) and leaving my bags in the hotel I found this small restaurant. My first impression was good as it has a very nice atmosphere in general, well decorated and smells good (yeah I said that,,, you can not imagine what places sometimes smells).... More

This spot makes you feel like you have wandered into the local neighborhood secret dining place. Milk jugs for wine coolers and the most delicious filet 'Wellington' made for a delightful evening. The razor clam starter with fresh cherry tomatoes and herbs was also delicious. Only regret was not having room for dessert.

This restaurant was recommended to me as a “French” experience. I was with a party of 6, friends, colleagues and the ubiquitous daughter who is studying in Paris. A truly Gallic experience. Lovely ambiance, super service and great food. I ate the razor clams to begin followed by calf’s kidney. Very filling yet delightful. I will seek this bistro out... More

I discover this restaurant through TA reviews. It is very very good. The main dish "rognon de veau" were excellent. The first dish "terrine" was very good, the desert "baba au rhum" was very good. The wine list is too large for my taste and it is difficul to choose. So it deserves a 4.5 rating with a little place... More

Staying in Les Halles

Neighborhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
