Mixed feelings.

The food and wine were amazing. The sommelière was inspiring, well informed and had very good wine and spirits on offer. The young waiter was snooty and pretentious. Perhaps typical for France, but we were seated next to the only other clients, a couple 2 inches away from us. The four of us ate... read more

The restaurant I like to go when I am out and about shopping on rue de Rivoli. I have never been for dinner, always for lunch, but the food was perfect. I like it because the ambiance is versatile. I can go with my gf or my business partners alike! Love the cafe gourmant for dessert!

Very nice restaurant, friendly staff and excellent food and wine. Definitely worth a visit. Convenient location right next to the Chatelet metro stop on the Rue de Rivoli.

Right at the corner of Rue des deux Boules, a few steps from Rue Rivoli and opposite one of the exits of metro station Chatelet this little gem with their kind and welcoming staff are all you can wish for after a long day of walking and sight-seeing. Food is superb, wines ask for more and the desserts are heavenly.... More

We read the great reviews and almost didn't eat here because no one else was dining at 7:15 p.m. So glad we did! All our food was delicious and it was packed shortly after we sat down. I hade the artichokes poirade, and the entrecôte with mashed potatoes. My companions had beef bourgignon and extra mashed potatoes. We had a... More

Last night was the first time I had ever eaten Razor Clams and they were wonderful. I had never heard of them. The waiter strongly recommended that I try them. Preparation is sautéed and served in a very tasty broth. If you are OK with shell fish, you MUST try these. They are unusual and very, very good. My entrée... More

We were staying a block away from this restaurant and decided to try something near by so we could walk and have some wine. This little restaurant is right by the metro exit for Chatelet. It was warm and inviting and we were not sorry with our choice. I started with a most delicious soup, asparagus and leek soup. Yummy.... More

Delightful host who speaks English. White Asparagus was the highlight. Duck is first rate. Boef Bourgainon is simple and delicious.

Staying in Les Halles

Neighborhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
