AWESOME Experience

Went here with my French class and it was just so cool from start to finish. All the waiters are bi-lingual and blind. You have no idea the size or layout of the room which can make this experience a bit claustrophobic at first, but once your other senses kick in it gets better. We were not... read more

Thank you very much for your comment. We are very happy to know that this experience was awesome for you. Sorry for the water, it is a little bit player in the dark ;) See you soon :) More

I went here with my parents, cousin and her friend. The whole experience is unique and you will realise a great deal about food and the way we eat as humans. You cannot use cutlery in the normal manner; you cannot drink in the manner you are accustomed to; your eyes will be 'opened' to see things in a new... More

To say that I'm adventurous when I eat is a lie, I'm most often not. So it was certainly a risk on the part of my girlfriend to book a dining experience at Dans le noir during our trip to Paris. To go in, get fed food which you can't see take a bit of courage. During the few weeks... More

The meal isn't anything to write home about, but the experience certainly is. When they say dark they really mean dark; it's pitch black inside which is very confronting at first. I went with my girlfriend and I highly recommend going with somebody else otherwise you will feel very alone. The experience is both scary, hilarious and illuminating at the... More

I really wanted to try out and am not disapointed of having done it. Food is good, service is nice, atmosphere is funny. We had quite a good laugh with the table mates. Yet I really did not feel at ease in pitch black, and I quickly feel like I wanted the experience to be over. I did not enjoy... More

Dans le Noir is a restaurant where you dine incomplete darkness and are served by blind staff. We chose to dine here as my husband manages care facilities for adults with disabilities. He felt the experience would give him insight into the every day experience of people with visual impairment. The welcome was warm in the lit reception/ bar area.... More

Seriously over hyped. Do yourself a favour, cook yourself some nice food, invite some friends rounds, draw the curtains, turn off the lights, and it will be a better experience! Some say the food not great!, it was like the worst hospital food ever! Mush, no taste or flavour. The whole premises was seriously like a basement in some shop.... More

Definitely worth trying once. A unique and fun experience. Nice staff. Food was good but not great... A little too greasy and heavy for my taste. But again the experience was what we were looking for and what we got!

I visited this restaurant on a recent trip to Paris (October 2014); the concept of eating in the dark was very interesting and different, so a friend and I gave it a go. It is certainly a very unique experience - I have not experienced anything like this before! Meals are served in complete blackness, and the fun of it... More

I offered a dinner to a very close friend in this restaurant. The experience is unique. Everything's going on in an absolute darkness. You do not even know what you eat and what the food you are eating looks like. The staff is very nice and the menu is quite good. However this place will attract you not for the... More

Neighborhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
