Midnight in Paris

Initially we wanted to come here as it featured in Woody Allen's 'midnight in Paris'. We got there quite early for Monday Jazz night. The drinks are cheap, but go up a bit after maybe 9pm? Went to Piano Vache on a Thursday night, and it was a really enjoyable experience. For starters, the crowed was predominately French as opposed to other pubs that I've been to in Paris which are packed with people from all over. I loved the atmosphere and the drinks were reasonably priced (although I switched to beer since the vodka cranberry... More

Jazz guitar on Monday night was the highlight of my trip to Paris, would never have discovered unless my friend brought us there

Seems to be a nice place to enjoy some good live music, but it was so crowd that we left. Good bar ambient.

I lived down the road from here for 18 months and for the first 17 I spent Monday nights doing my washing and ironing. If only I'd found this place sooner, I'd have paid the concierge to do it and hung out in here instead - Monday nights is live gypsy jazz and it is brilliant!

We called into this bar on a Saturday night because we noticed on the website that there were 'themed' nights, and Saturdays were supposed to be indie music. However there was no sign of any indie music at all (we were there from about 9pm onwards, left for a while and came back at midnight and it was the same... More

This is a great little pub/bar tucked away just behind the Pantheon... . The drinks are cheap, the barman was very friendly, the furniture is basic wooden tables and chairs, the lighting is low, the walls are plastered with music posters, there was rock and indie music playing over the speakers when we went on Friday and Saturday and there... This place does different music scenes on different nights. Monday night, the jazz is amazing! This place is also just around the corner from the church steps where the magic happened in the movie Midnight in Paris. We waited a bit, but Hemingway never appeared. We were after midnight, though; so we're likely at fault there. Prices are decent for... More

A small but cozy pub decorated with lots of musical posters. Played good rock and jazz when i was there. Small prices - pint of beer and glass of wine costed me 8eur. The interesting accent is the passport photos on the walls, fun stuff. It is close to pantheon and saint germain. Recommended

Found this bar whilst looking for the steps featured in midnight in Paris! Absolutely loved it! Dark, fantastic music and amazing passport photos adorned the walls! Got chatting to the owner who was regaling me with stories of all the famous people especially a certain Mr Depp who frequented the bar! Such a friendly cool tiny bar hidden off the... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
