A great authentic french restaurant

We really wanted to have an authentic French meal during our time in Paris. Our hotel suggestd this restaurant as it was nearby. I was surprised by how nice frogs legs and snails could be as i am usually picky with my food. If youre looking for an authentic french menu, give this place a try.

How can you resist not going into a restaurant called Roger the Frog when you are in Paris? Roger le Grenouille is in the rue des Grands Augustins a short walk away from the St Michel metro station. The cuisine is French. This is a charming restaurant which is not easily found being in a side street that would be... More

I dined at Roger la Grenouille during my stay in Paris. The atmosphere is really unique and 'aimed at frogs'. Even though the tables are very close to each others, they all feel separated, so you get a feel of privacy. The food is really nice, I had frog legs in parsley and garlic and they were mouth watering, nonetheless... More

If you want something that is tucked away and might be a brasserie style experience it looks the works. I have been twice and you might wonder why. well in a sense I thought the first time it was Ok ish. but this time you have to say the frogs legs were either swamped in garlic or fried up. Personally... More

The food is a bit better than average, but not great. The frogs legs were quite good, we had them two ways, provencal is best. Duck breast was good. Lamb shank was good, though a little fatty. But this place is not really about the food, it's the place. A small, eclectic space with maybe 10-12 tables with ancient tiled... More

I spent two weeks visiting my cousins, who live in the neighborhood near this restaurant. Of all the meals we are out while I was there, this was my favorite French meal of the trip.

A quiet but unique restuarant on a French side street. Loved the decor and the food. Probably the most expensive meal we had in Paris but well worth it to try local food cooked by locals.

Everything was very good, food was delicious for 4 separate meals delivery was fast (<20 minutes). Wine pick to dish was very good, staff was polite, one can order taxi and pack unfinished food for no extra cost. Interior is filled with 'frog' (visit and you will understand what I mean) and it gives place it's own unique style which... More

Six students and myself had dinner here, one had frogs legs, another had duck, but I aced them all with escargot and some of the best salmon I have had anywhere. I do not know what was in the sauce, only that it was superb. It was served searing hot. Very highly recommended.

Ma and Pa and two grown-up daughters liked the look of the outside whilst looking for supper so thought we'd try...this was quite a find. Starters were snails and foie gras creme brulee (not as weird as it sounds if you leave your previous creme brulee expectations at the door)which we shared and followed with seared beef, 'big pig' which... Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
