La Biche au Bois

C'est bien fais! Excellent atmosphere, good location and one of the best meals I've had. Truly made my visit to France. Owner is a sweet and friendly Canadian who speaks both English and French well and completely understands the concept of excellent service in addition to great food.

This restaurant specialises in traditional French cusine and the owners seem to think that all their guests need feeding up so make sure you arrive hungry. I had a starter portion of spinach quiche which was light as a feather but still enough for a meal in itself and there was steak and chips to follow PLUS an obligatory cheese... More

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and ambience of this restaurant which is quite small and very friendly. The food is good and there is a wide selection of wines. We ate the suggestion du jour which did not disappoint. As we left, people were queueing to get a table. The set menu with three or four courses is approx 30€. I... More

I knew the restaurant from our time in Paris 15 years ago and was disappointed. A noisy litte restaurant with friendly waiters and lot's of tourists. Food was OK but nothing special. Jambon Persile gristly, fatty fries, chewy lamb, basic mouse au chocolat. Big portions! The place needs a refresh!

What a fabulous little find! 5 minutes walk from Gare Du Lyon, or 10 minutes walk from Place de Bastille... This place is an absolute gem for fine French cuisine. Simple, wonderfully cooked basics like coq au vin, chocolate mousse and a fan cheese board. A little more expensive than the rest, but worth it. Excellent, professional service to top... More

One night on our trip to Paris, we splurged on a more expensive meal. It did not disappoint! In french style, they waiter recommended our wine and meals and was spot on. I would eat here again on our next trip.

Wonderful food and great service - a real jewel not far from Gare de Lyon. You have to try the 'kir maison'

This is a place to go if you like game. The lamb chops were excellent. My husband had a dish that he did not like but he did not go with game. Charming bistro with a lovely owner that cares about its guests. An aperitif is giving complimentary at end of meal. You definitely need a reservations. Hard to get... More

France Bistro very good affordable menu. €39 menu is excellent value offering 4 courses. The portions were generous and the grouse offered in season, strange to find this in Paris, I suppose, but it fits with the restaurants rustic theme. We sat outside as it was fully booked indoors but this wasn't a problem, despite the busy street side location.... More

We can't say enough good about this place. Madame the proprietor, is extremely charming and speaks good English. Try the house aperitif she recommends -- you won't be disappointed. 30 E menu is an incredible value. The egg fan wanted the classic oeufs aux mayonnaise and I ordered it too, but Madame urged me to try the beef cheek terrine... More
