We visited Paris last week and we found this little restaurant. The beef was so tender it almost melted in my mouth. Loved it and I would recommend it without a doubt. The waiter was lovely and very attentive. My daughter is learning French and he was very patient and friendly.

i live in the 9th and noticed that the quantity and quality of the meals have decreased since last year. I hope that this is a temporary situation and that this once nice little restaurant will be back where it was. For the time being, quite overpriced !

Just a small restaurant in a quiet street, with us as the only non-locals... a typical Parisian experience. Friendly staff, an English menu plus some blackboard specials, nothing too fancy or exotic. We shared a foie gras for starter, and it was plenty for two. Then mains of slow-cooked beef with pasta, and duck breast with potato dauphonoise, which were... More

A typical French Bistro with traditional dishes. A small menu, but high Quality! A beautiful old Interieur , typical parisian. We enjoyed our meal.

Living in the 9th, I had passed this restaurant many times and heard good things. Entrée was good (roules de courgettes) but beef main course was unremarkable – and overdone to boot. "A point" means medium done (i.e., still pink) but my meat was mostly cooked through. And the maître d'hôtel had no interest in fixing it. At €75 for... More

I came to Paris for my second time and had watched Anthony Bourdains 48 hours in Paris. I wanted to retrace most of his steps My neighborhood in Montmarte had some good places and a few great places that were better than say Bistro Paul Bert (on Anthony's list) one place is L'Annexe and the other is L'Entracte. I did... More

Happened to be in 9th A. at lunchtime (1 pm) last week -- in Paris for a month to study French and just out exploring. Saw four business types walking down the street and guessed they were heading to lunch and followed. One table left for a single like me -- only non-Frenchman in a packed (small -- 20 tables... Like many before us, after reading such positive reviews on TA we went to this restaurant and were not disappointed! We asked our hotel to arrange the booking and were pleasantly surprised to get a booking that night! The restaurant is easy to find and located in the delightful Montmarte area. It is a small restaurant, so keep in mind,... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
