5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2014 NEW

It loud, showy, a tad pretentious, but don't let the laid-back attitude fool you, nobody's laughing in the kitchen. The cuisine is daring, spectacular and very precise. Inaki Aizpitarte is a self-made chef, he taunts and teases traditional French cuisine and flirts with rare international flavours. It's a bio dynamic wines only policy in there, and some of the best... More

Had an absolutely spectacular dinner, at one of the best restaurants in the world, for only ?55, without a previous reservation. That is not possible anywhere in the world except at Le Chateaubriand.

Having dined at Septime the previous evening, we both preferred Le Chateaubriand. Great ambience and friendly staff. Incredible fried shrimp with raspberry powder, followed by a small hit of incredibly punchy red mullet cerviche. White crab was another highlight. The meal was a little fish heavy on balance, and the veal sweetbreads (the only meat item) weren't to my taste.... More

The chef is known to be erratic. Pro: friendly service, inexpensive for a highly rated restaurant. There is no menu since the chef will ask for any intolerances and decide what you will eat. I consider myself an adventurous eater, having enjoyed the ants at Noma. My dishes ranged from inedible (ceviche with a tiny piece of fish in a... More

This was listed as one of the 50 Best Restaurants in the World. First heard about it on 100th episode of no reservations (btw, all those were accurate 2 yrs ago). My wife and I were really excited to get this reservation. Have to say the dishes ranged from outstanding to very blah. At 60 euro prefix, you probably have... More

With the price of 65 euro, we had a chance to try 7 courses menu. i have to say it's quite cheap compared to other well-known restaurants in Paris. The food's very impressive. The food here was not very complicated or fancy. They're more casual but the chef knows how to cook them right. The restaurant is very crowded. Most... More

Fifth time we visited the place and still one of the best restaurants in Paris. Chateaubriand has accommodated the queue at the entrance by opening up a small winebar next door. No need to wait outside anymore, on the windy Avenue Parmentier. Later that evening: daring combinations on the plate and in the glass and a staff that is quick,... More

Our last meal in Paris was the best of a long list of great meals. We had no way of knowing Le Chateaubriand would outshine L'Atelier, Le Violon D'Ingre, and others, but viola! The most amazing thing was that there were no tricks, no culinary slight of hand, no molecular anything - just great ingredients handled deftly and combined in... More

We were fortunate to get an early evening booking and it was buzzing when we arrived. We were asked whether we wanted to know what was on the menu or whether we wanted to be surprised!! We chose surprise and we were not disappointed. Every member of staff was so helpful and enthusiastic and they have some lovely wines on... More
