Simply overhyped

While I will say the Food was very inventive and tasty, the atmosphere and noise level in this restaurant cancelled out everything positive for me. I found it one of the most unpleasant restaurant experiences in Paris or anywhere else for that matter. The Staff look very unkept, with dirty, wrinkled white shirts. A staff member outside smoking during service... More

Foodies seem to think they try too hard here however our group thought the dishes were excellent. The place was packed on a Friday night and although it was a tight fit we felt very comfortable and the staff were attentive. A great vibe and the open kitchen adds to the atmosphere.

Firstly, to balance this review, we overall enjoyed the food here. There were some memorable courses including tempura prawns with raspberry powder, mackerel with raddichio was unusual and delicious, curried monkfish was cooked very well and the pigeon dish was also superb. However, not all courses were that good, some were average at best such as the cheese puffs in... More

We absolutely loved Le Chateaubriand! We went for a quick NYE getaway and had planned on having dinner here in advance. For a world-renowned top quality restaurant in Paris, the prices were comparatively inexpensive. And the food and service? Well, both were great! Of course we had the wine pairings which were quite lovely. In otherwords.... Ooh la la Fantastique!

this restaurant was absolutely amazing. From the monkfish liver terrine to the sweetbreads and cured egg yolk dessert, all of the food was interesting and impeccable.

Getting a reservation was a challenge (two weeks in advance is the only real window to book). It was worth the effort. From what I gather, their upscale tasting menu of creatively paired ingredients is based on traditional Parisian flavours and seasonal availability. The flavours and textures were well thought out, the wine pairing was on the sweet side but... More

For the 2014 World's Best Restaurants, Chateaubriand is ranked #27. I ate here about four years ago, after reading a story in the New York Times about how French style was turning to upscale bistros rather than the traditional formal dining. Basque chef Inaki Aizpitarte's restaurant was highly recommended. I was happy to return here in January 2015. There is... More

Will this be the best restaurant you've ever visited ? Probably not. It's certainly no michelin star - however, I have also been to michelin star restaurants in other cities which aren't that great either. Nice food served in several courses which is reasonably priced in Paris. Wine pairing was good too. Atmosphere was cosy, laid back and bistro like... More

A very welcoming and warm restaurant, staff, and atmosphere. Each dish was perfection. Do go hungry as it is quite a bit of food, and you don't want to leave a single morsel. Reservations accepted 2 weeks in advance only.
