I get why this place is so polarising! We loved it, without loving every dish. I loved the unpretentious venue, the staff were nice. The service & setting is casual, just the way we like it. Our wine was gorgeous. I was surprised by how much food we were given, almost all of it was quite adventurous. A few dishes... More

My husband and I dined at Le Chateaubriand for my birthday in January, and it was one of my favorite meals ever! The space is somewhat unassuming for such a highly acclaimed place, but it certainly didn't take away from the experience. It's refreshing to have such an excellent meal without a stuffy atmosphere. It's a very short walk (less... More

Before writing this review I read many of the 'terrible' ones and I noticed that the reviewers were mostly from north on the other side of the ocean and UK. Also, one of the main complaints was the service. Many complain about raw something... (?!) Now, raw or almost uncooked fish/meat is excellent, and they were excellent in the dishes... More

Let me preface this review by saying I hardly ever write a bad review - I tend to be able to enjoy most experiences even if I consider them sub par and I certainly try to look for the silver lining. Unfortunately this was not possible at Le Chateaubriand. We were recommended to Le Chateaubriand by a friend who said... More

I don't quite understand the negative reviews of this place. The food was absolutely innovative and spectacular. The wine pairing was spot-on sublime (sparkling sake? seriously?). The service was impeccable (the waiter helped load and unload our baggage, as we were rushing to catch a flight). I've been to Michelin star restaurants and a fair few have been over-hyped and... The food experience is ok, but not mind blowing. I still struggle to understand why restaurant staff think that being unpleasant and arrogant to guests pays off. Is it a Paris thing - I don't know? I think the staff could have made the evening fantastic but they didn't enhance a "so and so" food experience. Wine suggestion with good... More

This intimate restaurant in the 11th arrondissement feels unpretentious and very Parisian - the tasting menu was fantastic and great value for money. You can only book 14 days in advance, with reservation times to 8.30pm; after that you will need to queue and the line looked long, so the restaurant is very popular even with locals. The wait staff... More

From beginning to end our dinner at Le Chateaubriand was excellent. We didn't have a reservation, but arrived at around 9pm to put our names on the walk up list at 9:15pm. There is a wine store next door that will sell you wine by the glass or bottle while you wait and the man working there is very helpful.... More

If you like innovation in the kitchen this is a must go. The food is very innovative and plays with your taste. The place is not pretty and service is laid back yet attentive. If you don't like nouvelle cuisine don't bother to go. You won't understand it and you likely won't like it.

Go for the full tasting menu, including wine package and the cheese - you will not regret! The food was fantastic, both in taste and presentation. The waiters were busy, but they were never far away when you needed their attention. Each course, and single glass of wine, was thoroughly explained and elaborated on. The sommelier sat down together with... More
