The older man (owner?) who seated us did little more than grunt and snarl at us the whole evening, or bark out some frustrations in French as he walked away from our table. Two co-workers and I went here on the recommendation of a long-time fan. We were seated at an empty bench but the table was shoved up so... More

I've been three times now with different people and have absolutely loved it every time. It's just a unique and fun experience, from climbing over the tables at the start, to drinking your first baby bottle of wine to delving into the cheesey goodness. Loved it here and I'll definitely be back! Vicky http://vickyflipfloptravels.com/les-refuge-des-fondus/

My husband and I were headed to Paris and two friends had independently recommended this place. We ordered the red wine and the cheese fondue. We made friends with the lovely couple next to us and ended up having several baby bottles of wine each, closed the place down, and had such a fun time. Not the best food ever,... More

This place was recommended by our apartment rental host since we were only a 10 minute walk to it. Service was pretty poor, but I tend to expect that in Paris. The atmosphere was very fun and lively. See other reviews regarding the baby bottles. Keep in mind the place is TINY, so you may have to wait if going... More

The first time I ate here was in 2008, and it was recommended by the hotel I was staying at. I returned again in 2013. The atmosphere is so much fun; long, family style seating and climbing on the tables to get to the other side of the bench. The restaurant is always packed. The fondue is great. We got... More

This place is a little odd, but a lot of fun. The meat fondue was really good, as was the red wine. Yes, it was served in baby bottles, but still good. We were a little leery of sitting next to strangers ( which happens because of close quarters and the type of sitting), but it all worked out well,... More

This place is in Montmartre and draws a generally young crowd. It is 17 euros for three courses with wine (white or red, which you must drink from a baby bottle). You can choose either classic cheese fondue or meat fondue, both of which are very good! You sit at long benches, and one of you must climb over the... More

My husband and I love fondue and we always make a point of dining here when we are in Paris. It is a tiny "hole in the wall" place with two long tables that are shared by all. The owners help the guests sitting on the wall seats up over the tables. It tends to be loud and crowded and... More

By my son's description I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy Le Refuge. Communal tables, rude service, poor wine and long wait. What's to like about that. Actually, our group of 5 walked right into this small restaurant and were seated immediately. The women climbed over the table to sit against the wall. We were wedged between 2 young... More

We were walking through montmartre towards a highly reviewed Thai place when we stumbled upon this unique filthy restaurant with people drinking out of baby bottles. The first sign things were headed in the wrong direction was when a piece of dust flew off the A/C and into my cocktail... no wonder they use baby bottles. They brought us a... More
