Cool bar

This place was recommended on a number of sites. Its a cool bar although we were there on independence day where the menu was limited. That wasnt a concern but drinking whiskey with a paper straw out of paper cup just doesnt sit right. Other than that night, a cool place to have a drink.

Fun atmosphere, great drink. The bartender didn't just throw a couple of ingredients together but came up with a delicious invention of his own. Others ordered different drinks and were equally satisfied with what was brought to the table.

OK -- this is NOT an easy place to find, even with a GPS! We were told to go here by our waiter at Frenchie's Wine Bar down the street a bit -- and were we glad we did. It was June 21, so summer solstice and the whole city was in a party mood. After finding the place (we... More

Excellent choice, this venue is very beautiful, a mixture of old Paris and New York loft. The secret cocktail is changing every week. The one I tried was amazing, based on Cognac.

The spot is cool--dark with adequate seating. The night I went (which was a Thursday) the DJ was really good! The drinks were just okay, however. I had a few and none were quite... right. But I guess that's why it's experimental! I'd go again because I liked the overall vibe and the music is right. But if you're going... More

I regularly go to ECC bars, cocktails are just amazing and prepared by selected barmen. It's always a pleasure, when I am in London, Paris or New-York to spend a few hours in these bars... I recommend!!!

We had been told about this bar so set off to find it. We failed and stopped off in Jefrey's (five doors down from it it turned out) for what turned out to be a marathon cocktail session. We eventually made it to the Experimental (our mixologist at Jefrey's actually took us!) and it was great. Really good atmosphere and... More

Very nice cocktails bar on a lovely street filled up only with restaurants and bars. Very nice decoration, small and intimate. It gets packed late in the evening and even more during the weekends. Go early at 7pm when they open and have a drink before diner. Lovely conversation with the mixologist and good exchange about other bars all over... More

We are quite particular about cocktails and this place met all of our criteria. Creative, yet adept at the traditional cocktails, extremely friendly, genuine interest in the craft and a diverse, fun crowd. ++good.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
