A delightful surprise

I've been here for a dinner, and I have to admit I was very skeptical about togolese cuisine. The people working here are very nice, and so is the cuisine. I suggest to order just one main dish, since I wasn't able to finish my portion. I was there almost two weeks ago, but if I ever get back... read more

The restaurant is a must for Americans visiting Paris, France. The staff is very friendly, the drinks are cold and the food is awesome... One of my favorites dishes was the red spiced baked chicken and the seafood sampler (stuffed crab, shrimp and scallops), the cold african lager beer was also an added bonus. This place is family ran and... More

Le Mono is a family-run Togolese restaurant in Montmatre. Definitely a nice change from the French/Italian restaurants in the area for anyone looking for something different/interesting. Food was very good - they have an excellent appetizer platter (included some shrimp/bean and crab fritters, and some dips), and the main dishes were spicy and flavourful. Lots of grilled meats and peanut-based... More

Enjoyed eating in this atmospheric little place serving Togolese food. I was accompanied by an African friend who is familiar with west African food and it was pronounced to be the real mckoy. I'd have given this restaurant 5* had it not been for the noisy and badly behaved French speaking kids at the next table who blighted part of... More

Service was great, waiter was nice and helpful, prices were reasonable for Paris and it seemed everything was going fine. So what went wrong? The Food. For starter I tried the deep fried shrimps and the only decent thing was the spicy sauce that they brought with them. We choose the Gombo and beef with peanuts as a main dish.... More

We go here ant we didn't know anything about the african kitchen. The food was very good. The service was nice but a littel slow. I recommed this to my friends.

The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, the music is not too loud and it accompains nicely, the food is really yummy! We shared a mixed appetizer and an extra boudin noire and then tried three excellent different dishes including gombo (do try it if you're fine with slightly funny texture because it's excellent!) a delicious beef with peanuts and a... We went to this restaurant upon the suggestion of my Lonely Planet guidebook and were very happy with the decision. It was my first time to try Togolese (spel?)/West African food and I will definitely be back. I order the vegetarian plate, a spinach dish in a peanut sauce served with rice and rice cakes. It's a very clean, friendly... More

Staying in Montmartre

Neighborhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colors, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
