One of the more expensive croques in Paris - but not one of the best.

An article came out in Le Figaro earlier this year where they discussed where to find the best Croque Monsieur in Paris. Café Delmas's offering would rank among the most expensive. It's not bad, it's just that you can get the same, if not better quality food in Paris for half the price. The... read more

I love this part of Paris. We came to the Latin Quarter for a drink and ended up here for few hours. Lovely atmosphere and nice drinks.Great place to hang out too.

If you don't LOVE cheese, you should probably give it a miss. My girlfriend and I came here for the last night of our holiday, unfortunately a Sunday, so the restaurants we had considered were closed. We went in and everything seemed nice, although it wasn't even remotely full, which could have been an indicator. Onion soup was just a... More

What a delight! The ambiance is warm and inviting, the burgers were excellent, service very good no difficulty communicating in English with the wait staff and to top it off the creme brule was absolutely amazing - best I've had in a long time. A bit expensive otherwise would get a '5'.

Came here for breakfast with another couple. The positive is the view of the square and watching life pass by. The negatives we had to beg for service, the prices were ridiculous even by Paris standards and the food was below average. Literally walk down Rue Moufftard and you will find so many better places

Just to stay in the sun and enjoy the view and one croisssant with an short Esspreso. The salads are faboulous but no different than other good spots in Paris. A lot of tourist but also some genuine parsiens with their family there to find. Be sure that a generous tip will be welcomed. Enjoy!

The location of Cafe Delmas is stunning overlooking the beautiful square at Place de la Contrescarpe in the heart of the Latin Quarter. The fountain and families sitting around talking in the sun sum up all that is great about Paris. However, sitting outside we had a couple of drinks which were well made but expensive at €14 and served... More

My friend and I have been in Paris for a month living in the arrondissement close to Place Contrescarpes. On one of our last evenings we decided to stop for a drink at Cafe Delmas. We had one drink and decided to have one more. We were patient knowing that Parisian service is different than American. We had been there... More

Do yourself a favour and drop into Cafe Delmas, Paris on a Friday night. The late afternoon happy hours ensures that there is a great vibe and the food and the cocktails flow generously. We had an amazing meal of Snails and Steak Tartar!

The location of this cafe could not be better, over looking a lovely square in the heart of the Latin Quarter. We came here for drinks and for coffee, and on both occasions loved sitting in the sunshine people watching. The drinks (and the coffee) were good. My friend enjoyed some snacks, which were tasty. As it was happy hour,... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
