Nice café in la Contrescarpe

Well situated , seat at the terrace and enjoy a glass of wine and a slice of foie gras and enjoy Paris.Food is decent, little overpriced but you pay for the location. Staff is very courteous which can be rare in Paris. I'll definitely come back.

Was there with my friends to have lunch and we were totally disappointed... We ordered burgers that where for ants, very very small with a small portion of fries and the only big thing was the bill... Each hamburger was 15 euros... Never going back to that place...

Paying 39€ for 2 poor breakfasts, an orange juice and a crepe is too much even if you have them in Paris! And breakfast needs to be definitely improved! When we left and we walked towards the market of Rue moufftarde we saw so many better places!

We stopped here for coffee early. 14 euros for 2 cappuccinos. A single espresso is nearly 3/euros. Service is inattentive, although it was busy. Choose another spot to enjoy a terrace.

We were strolling in the 5th and stumbled into Cafe Delmas. The place was packed, and such a nice looking place to eat outside enjoying a beautiful Sunday morning. We both had their price fixe brunch. The food was very good, especially the "French toast" . The portions were large by French standards. Yes it was a bit overpriced, but... More

We found this cafe while wondering around after our visit to the Pantheon. A great spot that looks out on a fountain and lots of people watching. My husband and I shared a healthy size bowl of tasty ravioli in cream sauce, french bread, and a bottle of wine. Waiters were friendly and attentive and found it reasonable compared to... More

Lovely. Great food and setting, excellent service. But as others here have said, oddly expensive. Tea and coffee were both almost more than our food.

We each ordered the 3 egg omelet with ham and cheese, freshly squeezed orange juice, and café au lait. All came with a basket of bread and a carafe of water. Accompanying the omelet was a spinach and arugula salad topped with a light vinaigrette. Everything was delicious and the omelet outstanding! The service was courteous and prompt. The final... More

The location of this restaurant is great, and we thought it would be a nice place to have a morning coffee and croissant. And while the coffee was very good, two coffees and two croissants cost 16 Euros. Go across the street to the bakery, and get a coffee and pastry for less than half the price. This restaurant is... Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
