Superb name for this restaurant as, apart from the mystery around cooking such nice meals from such a small kitchen, it does rather look like an old-fashioned pharmacy, from outside ! Rustic furnishings, attentive service, and a blackboard menu to make your eyes water - in concentration ! Meal very nice, although beef lacked a little flavour, perhaps. Will I... More

Although the food was good and the menu creative, we found the dishes a little hard to digest. There were too many different flavours and I don't rate this bistro as highly as others have. The room is small which is ok except there was no air and it got very hot and uncomfortable. The menu is lengthy, with lots... More

This was the kind of place we were looking for in Paris. A tiny family run Bistrot offt he beaten track with only approx 10 tables. FOr first time Parisiens it was easy to find and from the moment we walked in to a lovely greeting & big smile we were made to feel welcome and they worked with us... More

Say that you have rare chances to meet French couisine. Say that you you want to sip the experience with a single visit. Then, this is the right place, one of the best rep of small, warm French bistrot. Nice for couples. The tuna steak with ratatuille was masterpiece, as everything else, with personal touch. Of course, wine choices are... More

Very creative menues for very reasonable prices (22 euros for 2 courses, 27 for three!). Super kind and attentive host. Just 12 tables so call for a reservation to be sure. Non meat dishes also very nice. Beautiful wines too.

Visited this restaurant with my mother (who is a fussy eater!) while on holiday in Paris. Not in a touristy location and the majority of patrons were French; always a good sign! The waitress was polite, helpful and friendly - translated the menu perfectly (and not begrudgingly!) and ordered our taxi home. The quality of every dish was outstanding; rich,... More

A colleague of mine and I went to L'Alchemiste while on a business trip in Paris after reading the Trip Advisor reviews. While this tiny Parisian bistro is a bit difficult to find and is in a neighborhood that you otherwise wouldn't go to, it is well worth the trip. The bistro has less than 10 tables and the menu... We had a reservation at this small place for our last night in Paris and couldn't have been more pleased! The proprietor was gracious and even called me back when my cell phone ran out of time mid-reservation request. The blackboard menu offered fresh and out-of-the-ordinary choices (e.g., my husband was delighted to see sweetbreads on it) and the desserts... More
