A favourite with the locals

There is uncomplicated good food but with a little flair. We were not given a menu but shown the blackboard, which of course, was only in French. The carafe of wine is more expensive than at other places, but then it was a better quality. This is a bistrot for the French, but they welcome all.

Stopped here early evening after a trip to the Louvre. Sat outside for drinks- staff were very friendly and things were very relaxed. The little area around this place has a genuine neighbourhood vibe- a park opposite and a little supermarket alongside meant lots of locals going about their business to watch. Moving inside for a bit of warmth the... More

Great food, selection of wines and very friendly staff (unusual in Paris when travelling with a toddler). The homemade terrine was beautiful and worry a trip back again!

We had an excellent and very good value meal here to celebrate our silver wedding. When the staff found this out, complimentary champagne flowed with toasts and handshakes. A really wonderful evening.

We came across this place by accident and had lunch there. It was great. One man running the whole establishment, service was brilliant and the food was excellent. Even my two girl - 5 and 11 felt welcome and they loved the food. I will go back when in Paris again.

We were only staying around the corner and with the wealth of choices for dining in the area we chose this restaurant - particularly as it had dishes that we knew the children would enjoy. We booked a table and arrived at 7pm. It is autumn here and not particularly frantic, which is something we are loving. The kids enjoyed... More

We ate here after hours of walking and touring, had a great meal, I had the market fish-excellent, My Gluten-free 11yr old had the snails and the filling of the house quiche along with the mousse au chocolat. My husband managed to plan our next stops using the wifi with his tablet.

We were very early diners on a Friday evening here -- so early, in fact, that they were busy working on the counter with power tools, making for a noisy start to the evening. We ordered the formula -- steak poviore, gratineed scalloped potatoes, and wine; the wine was the best part of the meal, but the rest wasn't bad.... More

Rita greeted us and made sure we had a great time. Good food with a very good Pouilly-Pume. This restaurant made up for the bad experience we had at another restaurant around the corner

Went to this restaurant after long walking at Lourve. The food is very french. Fast and big dishes. Enough food. Friendly service. We ordered salmon, pork and snail. Can't complain. Free internet :-) Recommended and would like to come back.

Staying in Les Halles

Neighborhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
