Negative: conservative, business like, limited tasting, too expensive that you can have 5-8 meals (with wine) elsewhere. Positive: food and wine pairing are terrific, staff impeccable. Glad I went, but will not return, but instead will hit bistros and perhaps spurge on 1 star stops.

OK - the service was excellent - the staff really attentive - but I have to admit that I was disappointed with some of the dishes - the wild boar sausage was really dry, the fish tasted really fishy..... however the duck was super tasty. The wine was good. At the end we asked for tea and milk - and... More

I was introduced to this restaurant by my late husband , who in the sixties was a young apprentice chef in Paris. Taillevent was an iconic restaurant back then as it is now , his ultimate dream was to dine at Taillevent, he was 18 years old at the time . He saved his salary for three months so he... More

Taillevent was a lovely evening of elegance and top drawer service. The wine list was probably the most reasonable thing about it. My appetizer of Boudin Homard Bleu was delicious. I then shared the roasted Bresse chicken with my wife. Great presentation, but rather ordinary in taste and texture I thought. The a la carte price for two was way... More

We have been to Taillevant around 10 times in the past 10 years. Few visits were business lunch or dinners but others were mostly with my wife for having a nice meal. Food, ever so rich and properly done, while eating i can visualize the many super cooks working in the kitchen with great discipline and under super leadership. Service,... More

This was a special occasion dinner and we were not disappointed. We were greeted by the doorman, who graciously took our picture to share with others. Wait staff was professional and pleasant throughout the evening, becoming a bit more relaxed as they found that we are casual people who enjoy interacting with others. The sommelier was very helpful in selecting... More

A quite fantastic lunch experience which will linger long on the memory. Rarely have we been to a restaurant where we could find no fault. From the interaction via email for the booking, to the welcome we received on arriving, and then to the meal itself, all was perfect. We had the lunch menu at 104 euros, which included 2... More

I wanted to eat in one of the grand old Paris restaurants, and chose this one based on positive TripAdvisor reviews. I went to lunch there, a woman alone, and perhaps that was why they weren't warmer. But everyone talked in a hushed and formal manner, and no one smiled at me, ever. I'd dressed for the occasion, too, so... More

Taillevent is one of the best restaurants we have ever been to. We live in New York and have literally traveled all over the world. This has to be in the top five. The food is superb. The service is excellent. The ambiance is romantic. The wine list is great. It all comes at a great cost but it is... More

We had a lunch celebrating my mother's 95th birthday and even without advanced knowledge, they treated her like a queen: A trip to the kitchen for a group pose with about a million of the staff, a video of them singing to her, a signed menu from most of the staff, and a special desert for all of us that...
