Very nice but not Wow.

Of course we had great expectations. Not just because it has two stars but because its the legendry one and only Taillevent. The food at this elegant Michelin starred restaurant is well prepared and of high quality though I thought the starters and mains were better than the desserts. There are also good choices for wine. The service, while very professional, felt rather stiff and unwelcoming. Maybe its cultural but perhaps they could scowl a bit less?

A group of us had dinner at the Taillevent. Some of us were repeat visitors. Of course there were high expectations. We arrived early but were greeted warmly and seated promptly. Service was exemplary except one younger, clearly less experienced waiter was clearly nervous and uncomfortable serving a mostly non-French speaking table. We chose the degustation menu for which we... More

When in Paris, Taillevent cannot be missed. I most enjoy a long lunch with friends as everything about this true classic is enjoyable -- food, service and wait until you see the wine list! Don't be fooled by any negative reviews here as they obviously do not understand what a fine dining experience is.

Taillevent was recommended by several friends and it did not disappoint. My husband and I enjoyed a romantic dinner here during our stay in Paris. We could not have asked for a more pleasing experience. The staff was exceptional (we seemed to have a team tending to our every need) and the food was beyond incredible, not to mention the... More

Fantastic, seamless, cohesive lunch. Classic but not at all outdated. Cuisine in evolution but so far from the molecular gastronomy that doesn't do much for me. A warm welcome followed by hot gougeres (aged Comte and Parmesan - much better than your average gougere) and the best house champagne I've had. Shortly followed by an excellent langoustine sweet and sour... More

This was recommended by the concierge and was our Paris splurge restaurant. It is a beautiful dining room and the wait staff are extremely attentive, I think we had three for the two of us not including the sommelier. We are not overly formal people and even in a very expensive restaurant we are going to have fun. Our staff... More

Despite being a work lunch, I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at Tailevent. I've been to some very fine dining but the prices at this place was by far the most expensive I've actually seen ever. We opted for the prixe fixed lunch which was excellent. Amazing service since you had like 6 waiters for a table of 4 and... More

We were greeted warmly when we arrived, offered champagne, seated in a beautiful dining room, and served a fantastic meal. Service and food were excellent!
