We made a reservation almost a week ahead and the restaurant repeatedly confirmed us via e-mail and telephone call. We appreciated their warmest effort. However when we arrived there, we were guided to not main dining room but an isle or waiting space where another couple has started their dinner. I understand it was very busy season and fully booked... More

An outstanding food (truly outstanding), wine and service experience in a very elegant restaurant environment. Very posh but done so elegantly and appropriately. Great experience, this restaurant certainly lives up to its reputation.

From the moment you are greeted at Tailevent's townhouse door and escorted to your table there is something especially elegant about dining at Taillevent for lunch. The decor is modern but especially comfortable and inviting. Every diner is made to feel appreciated without the fussiness and pomposity of some restaurnats of this caliber. It is the food and wine pairings... More

Many expensive restaurants do not live up to their reputation. However, Taillevent was an extraordinary dining experience that was well worth the price. Housed in an elegant townhouse, the venue is conservative, yet inviting, akin to the Four Seasons in NYC. The staff was incredibly attentive, and the manager warm and engaging. The food was superb, cooked to perfection and... More

We went to Taillevent with my family for our yearly gathering. Overall, the service is impeccable (attentive but not overwhelming) and the food of high standard. The strongest point of the food is their sauces. The chef really knows how to give taste to the sauces and bring them to Escoffier's standards. The ingredients are also of high quality (lobster,... Pretty awful with three disappointing dishes and a tasteless amuse boche. The creme brûlée of duck foi gras was unsubtle and sickly sweet, the lamb which I requested twice be medium/well done arrived so pink that a good vet could have saved it and the cheesy savoury just didn't taste nice. Served as part of the lunch package was half... More

Negative: conservative, business like, limited tasting, too expensive that you can have 5-8 meals (with wine) elsewhere. Positive: food and wine pairing are terrific, staff impeccable. Glad I went, but will not return, but instead will hit bistros and perhaps spurge on 1 star stops.

OK - the service was excellent - the staff really attentive - but I have to admit that I was disappointed with some of the dishes - the wild boar sausage was really dry, the fish tasted really fishy..... however the duck was super tasty. The wine was good. At the end we asked for tea and milk - and... More

I was introduced to this restaurant by my late husband , who in the sixties was a young apprentice chef in Paris. Taillevent was an iconic restaurant back then as it is now , his ultimate dream was to dine at Taillevent, he was 18 years old at the time . He saved his salary for three months so he... More
