This meal hit the spot after a long day of exploring

We happened across this restaurant after a long day of walking all over the city. Boy, the service was really efficient and the food was very tasty. We both had the beef steak which was excellent. We had been craving some greens after splurging on macarons, crepes and other sweets all day and were... read more

However not anymore the one I experienced 20 years ago. The food is good but maybe too expensive for what they offer

If you want to go back in time to the 1900, this is the place. This is a typical old restaurant where time seems to have stopped. The service is friendly, efficient and excellent, nothing to complain about. Wines are very good, so are the meals as well as the quality. It is different and well worth an experience without... This is a delightfull small restaurant with good priced and well cooked food. We rocked in about 10.00pm after spending a night visit to the Lourve and were welcomed by the owner who speaks English. We had a great meal and wine at a good price. What more do you want? I usually am disappointed with a lot of the French... More

I very much wanted to like this place, since it is close to where I live and has a nice ambiance. Unfortunately, I had one of the most bland and boring meals I have ever eaten in Paris (or anywhere else, for that matter). The menu was fairly standard French food, and not too extensive. I chose the pot au... More

We ate here on a Saturday night and got a table without booking (although we got there at 7:30pm because we had our sleeping baby in a pram and by the time we left at 9pm the restaurant was full). The food was tasty but not mind-blowing (we had escargot, duck liver pate, beef bourguignon and calf's head) and the... More

That was my husband opinion and I must agree. Last time when visiting Paris we went to this restaurant twice for lunch, once the two of us and once with my daughter and her boyfriend. The place is very traditional type of bistro from the beginning of the 20th century. It is located close to the Luxembourg gardens. Cozy, with... More

Very good restaurant with a traditional feel eg little tables with red and white checked table clothes and decor. Good solid French food and not too over the top. Friendly staff, who were very accommodating with us and our 10 week old baby. Would recommend.

We had an extra evening in Paris as a result of complicated rail logistics and pulled this place out of a guide - well worth it, really good and well-founded bistro cooking. If you're visiting, this place definitely fits expectations of a traditional Paris restaurant. As expected, the wine list worked very well. Staff were very friendly as well.

We actually found this restaurant quite by accident while searching for a different restaurant. We were tired from a long day of sight-seeing and it was very cold out. Stepping into the restaurant is like stepping into the past. The décor is lovely and the staff work hard to keep the atmosphere intimate. If the door didn't close quickly after... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
