Pleasant but nothing special

An attractive looking restaurant in a quiet part of the Latin quarter. I easily got a table at 8pm (later it would have been more of a challenge) and was quickly seated and attended to by what seemed to be a husband and wife team. The husband recognizing my poor French quickly switched into English... read more

We dined here a few years ago because of the reviews and weren't over impressed then. Decided to try again but, again, found it only OK. It was very hot and, instead of having the aircon on, they left the door open. I was so hot that I couldn't enjoy the meal.

Before I start, I want to admit that I am one of the pickiest eaters out there. This charming little bistro has no false pretenses. It is exactly what one would expect to find when going to an old world bistro. The staff's level of fluency in English is a bit spotty, just like my fluency in French. They more... More

This was our last dinner in Paris, and we hoped that the food would live up to the nice traditional ambiance which met us when we went in. Red and white tablecloths, what appeared to be locals dining....We decided to go for the a la carte menu and both selected the lamb, with the gratin potatoes. The potatoes were delicious,... More

A Parisian friend recommended Perraudin and it didn't disappoint. We called ahead making reservations for a table of 4. While we attempted to speak French, the waitstaff was patient & accommodating & spoke English with us, when needed. The prix fixe options are diverse & truly represent the best of traditional French cuisine. If you are looking to eat as... More

We went for the low priced fixed menu - crudités, lamb and beef then mouse aux chocolate. Really good value, with two beers and bottle of water, ff55. Good value. Would recommend.

My husband had the BB and I had the Duck in honey and rosemary. It was delicious! I asked for my duck Pink. Best duck Ive ever had! It is early Wednesday evening and we seem to be the only tourists here between the locals. We had frogs legs for a starter. My first time. It was very good.

The Perraudin is a lovely bistrot in the Latin quarter where you can eat typical French cuisine and have good value for money. I have been here three times and recommend the tartare, the duck and boeuf bourguignon . The desserts are delicious and the service is good.

After meeting friends at a bar near by we stumbled across Perraudin and decided to dine for dinner. As two Australian couples in Paris we enjoyed snails and frog legs for entrée (both excellent) and steak frites for main (also excellent). We had a great night catching up drinking wine and the staff were very friendly even as we continued... More

We heeded some previous reviews and avoided the €18.50 set price menu and ordered a la carte. We shared the pot a feu pate with to-die-for onion marmalade. It was a hearty tasty roast beef pate that was too big for us to finish. For mains we had the duck confit, which came with lovely roasted potatoes and a nice... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
