The best chocolate mousse of Paris

That was my husband opinion and I must agree. Last time when visiting Paris we went to this restaurant twice for lunch, once the two of us and once with my daughter and her boyfriend. The place is very traditional type of bistro from the beginning of the 20th century. It is located close to the... read more

We ate here on a Saturday night and got a table without booking (although we got there at 7:30pm because we had our sleeping baby in a pram and by the time we left at 9pm the restaurant was full). The food was tasty but not mind-blowing (we had escargot, duck liver pate, beef bourguignon and calf's head) and the... More

Very good restaurant with a traditional feel eg little tables with red and white checked table clothes and decor. Good solid French food and not too over the top. Friendly staff, who were very accommodating with us and our 10 week old baby. Would recommend.

We had an extra evening in Paris as a result of complicated rail logistics and pulled this place out of a guide - well worth it, really good and well-founded bistro cooking. If you're visiting, this place definitely fits expectations of a traditional Paris restaurant. As expected, the wine list worked very well. Staff were very friendly as well.

We actually found this restaurant quite by accident while searching for a different restaurant. We were tired from a long day of sight-seeing and it was very cold out. Stepping into the restaurant is like stepping into the past. The décor is lovely and the staff work hard to keep the atmosphere intimate. If the door didn't close quickly after... More

Located near the Luxembourg RER Station Perraudin is a small but welcoming bistro. The food is wonderful, reasonably priced and the place is often packed so if you are a group or want to go at a weekend please remember to book. The starters and desserts are the stars especially the Profiteroles which are just amazing.

I wouldn't say Perraudin is an iconic restaurant. It's hasn't got such pretention, yet you really feel like you're in Paris, in a time warp. The food is good, honest, classic old family recipes and reliable. Such old style dishes like "tête de veau sauce ravigotte" remind me of my grandmother's cooking and I go specially to Perraudin whenever I'm... More

Small little place in the area near our hotel. The food was solid and reasonable. One could get a 3 course meal (starter, main dish, dessert) for less than 20 euros which is not bad IMHO. We found the onion soup delicious as well as the au gratin potatoes. The lamb was good also. This is not a 5 star... More

Even though the staff was very busy, we got friendly service and we like the basic food. This is not fancy, but good traditional type french food. We will be back.

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
