Superb traditional French cuisine; warm, welcoming and witty proprietor

We try to visit Paul Chene whenever in Paris. This small, family-owned gem never fails to disappoint! Five stars for the Paul Chene restaurant in Paris. The highlight of our recent dinner was the Crepes Suzette for dessert , for two reasons. First, they were prepared tableside by the gracious owner, Harold Audouin. Second, he flambeed them in his wonderful homemade orange-flavored cognac.

My fiance and I went to Paul Chene for dinner on our second night in Paris. We had a wonderful experience. The waiter/host was very attentive and socialized with us the entire time. He made the experience very memorable. I would definitely go back again. The photos do not do the food justice. Everything was delicious to say the least.... More

Perfect service. The Hare and steak melts in your mouth. Try the orange cognac!!! It is homemade. Onion soup is also very delicious.

My wife and I spent part of our honeymoon in Paris. Paul Chene was recommended by our hotel and didn't disappoint. The owner was very friendly and accommodating to us and the food was fantastic and cooked perfectly. My wife had the Chateaubriand which was fantastic! Definitely recommend this restaurant to visitors!

We have been coming to this place every other year or so for the past 15 years. A few years ago it has changed hands into the next generation.the new owner and manager is as good as the old one. Menu is extensive with many options (and the best of French cuisine) as is the wine cellar. But the best... More

My wife and I were spending our last day in Paris and headed to the Post office on rue Lauriston. Before heading out, I had selected a restaurant for lunch from our guide book that was on the same street. When we arrived and saw the menu we weren't thrilled. A few doors down Paul Chene beckoned. It was perfect... More

Staying in Trocadero

Neighborhood Profile
Trocadero
This is the neighborhood of grand and impressive Haussmann-designed apartments and buildings. National museums overlook the Eiffel Tower and embassies fill the avenues and streets. Locals head to the butcher, florist, or bakery on their daily rounds amidst luxury and splendor, all with a view over Paris and its most famous tower. Snuggled in between the grand buildings are small art galleries and homes of historical significance. With a rich legacy from 19th century politics, art, and architecture, you can’t help but be reminded of the belle époque, the Universal Exhibitions and the nobility that have frequented and shaped these streets.
