We were looking for a new bistro in Paris and asked our hotel (Four Seasons) for a suggestion. They told us that we could not go wrong with Paul Chene. They were absolutely right. The food was tremendous, the service exceptional, and the atmosphere even better. As well, their wine list was very good. Paul Chene was a comfortable restaurant... More

Here's the setup - Concierge at Four Seasons hotel recommended to friends two nights prior at our conference - They said the restaurant makes their own champagne AND Cognac - Sign me up! This is a third generation family owned restaurant since 1959 - owner Harold Audouin warmly greets us at the door and kisses my wife's hand . .... More

My wife and I started our visit with Paul Chene's own Champagne that we both found delicious! Cosy dining room, classic French menu, very traditional. Escargots, Foie, etc., food was very good! Finished with Crepes Suzette, one of my all time favorites... The house brand Orange Brandy is a amazing. Lucky for us they sell both the brandy and Champagne... More

We visited Paul Chene with our friends on a weeknight in late June. Owner Harold greeted us warmly and led us to our cozy table. We ordered some traditional French dishes, e.g. escargot and foie gras to start our night. The pan-seared foie gras cooked in their family-made orange cognac was the best foie gras I've ever tasted. I'm not... More

Had dinner on July 3rd 2014 with two guests. Restaurant was empty at 8.30 PM - not a good sign - wanted to walk out but being with guests didn't want to look strange. Menu is old, boring and too long (never a good sign). Had grilled langoustine, guest had a sole, foie gras and a steak. Terrible ambiance. If... More

Superior service to a single traveller like me. The owner is friendly. Food is really authentic. Not really touristy. I was the only tourist in the restaurant, the other were locals. I love the dessert - grand marnier pancake, in particular. Highly recommended!

Paul Chêne is a hidden gem on a little street behind the Trocadéro (near the Eiffel Tower). To start your unforgettable gastronomic experience, you are greeted by M. Chêne (the family has been in the food and wine business for generations) at the door of the small, beautifully appointed restaurant. He offers you a "coupe" of champagne while discussing your...
