Harold was tremendous at making recommendations on both food and wine. From the moment we walked in we were treated like family. The restaurant was also able to provide numerous items for my celiac / diabetic friend. Everything is made to order. Sit back, relax, drink some wine and enjoy the delicious food.

This small restaurant (about 10 tables) was cozy and romantic. The food was good but not better than we'd had elsewhere in Paris at less than 1/2 the cost. A crayfish dish was nowhere near as good as the crawfish etouffe we can get on the Texas/Louisiana Gulf Coast for a quarter of the price. Dessert was very good -... More

I have been fortunate enough to dine with Paul on numerous occasions and have always had memorable experiences, not only from the food but from Paul's hospitality. I can not fully describe the meal but I can tell you that I am a huge fan of truly French food and dining thanks to the education I received from Paul and... More

Restaurant Paul Chene is a wonderful throwback to classic french cuisine and the ambience that is required to pull this off. It is set on a side street off of Avenue Raymond Poincare about halfway between Trocadero and Place Victor Hugo. A family establishment since the late 1950s. For Americans or Brits who are fortunate to find this classic, I... More

One of the best restaurants of the city. The dishes, on top of being prepared with fresh ingredients, are quite well served. One of the most unique tastes, you can have the flavours of all the items used in the dishes. The service is excellent too!!

Very good food, fine dining style. We arrived latish for lunch (around 1.30 pm) and had a feeling of being a bit rushed as a result. But the food was very good, the bread fantastic. The owners own Armagnac was excellent.

There is no doubt that Harold makes the experience here. He is exceedingly thoughtful and helpful and has been in the family business for three generations. They make their own food and alcohol from scratch. The only reason that I have rated this slightly lower than the full five stars is because we found the food to be a little... More

Not just another french bistro around the corner! Food, service and ambiance are great. Yet, quiet and cozy for a couple or a person on their own. Enjoy an after dinner special drink made by the family and you will want to return again! Great for non-french speakers.

From the moment our car dropped us off and Harold came out to greet us, my wife and I knew this would be a memorable experience. We were not disappointed with what followed. Harold was extremely helpful throughout the whole experience, from recommending the right wine to choosing the right dessert to end with. The food was exquisite, my foie... More

Staying in Trocadero

Neighborhood Profile
Trocadero
This is the neighborhood of grand and impressive Haussmann-designed apartments and buildings. National museums overlook the Eiffel Tower and embassies fill the avenues and streets. Locals head to the butcher, florist, or bakery on their daily rounds amidst luxury and splendor, all with a view over Paris and its most famous tower. Snuggled in between the grand buildings are small art galleries and homes of historical significance. With a rich legacy from 19th century politics, art, and architecture, you can’t help but be reminded of the belle époque, the Universal Exhibitions and the nobility that have frequented and shaped these streets.
