Restaurant Paul Chene is a wonderful throwback to classic french cuisine and the ambience that is required to pull this off. It is set on a side street off of Avenue Raymond Poincare about halfway between Trocadero and Place Victor Hugo. A family establishment since the late 1950s. For Americans or Brits who are fortunate to find this classic, I... More

One of the best restaurants of the city. The dishes, on top of being prepared with fresh ingredients, are quite well served. One of the most unique tastes, you can have the flavours of all the items used in the dishes. The service is excellent too!!

Very good food, fine dining style. We arrived latish for lunch (around 1.30 pm) and had a feeling of being a bit rushed as a result. But the food was very good, the bread fantastic. The owners own Armagnac was excellent.

There is no doubt that Harold makes the experience here. He is exceedingly thoughtful and helpful and has been in the family business for three generations. They make their own food and alcohol from scratch. The only reason that I have rated this slightly lower than the full five stars is because we found the food to be a little... More

Not just another french bistro around the corner! Food, service and ambiance are great. Yet, quiet and cozy for a couple or a person on their own. Enjoy an after dinner special drink made by the family and you will want to return again! Great for non-french speakers.

From the moment our car dropped us off and Harold came out to greet us, my wife and I knew this would be a memorable experience. We were not disappointed with what followed. Harold was extremely helpful throughout the whole experience, from recommending the right wine to choosing the right dessert to end with. The food was exquisite, my foie... More

Paul Chene is exceptional! If you happen to get a table (small intimate restaurant) count yourself among the very fortunate who will dine at one of the best restaurants in Paris! Harold makes the experience unforgettable, as he talks you through the various courses, and makes wonderful recommendations. Order an initial glass of the house Champagne - they actually make... We have been to Paul Chene before and have recommended this restaurant to everyone who says they are visiting Paris. We have yet to hear anyone say anything but rave reviews. Once again, Harold delivers a fantastic meal and experience! We cannot say enough! This time we came for my wife's 50th birthday and we were treated like one of... More

Myself and my wife ate at Paul Chene on our first night in Paris to celebrate our 25th wedding. Recommended by our hotel, this was a great choice and a unique Parisian experience. Harold, owner and host, made the evening and meal unforgettable with his attentive service and conversation - without ever being intrusive. His rendition of my wife's English... More

Tried to get into this very intimate, highly recommended restaurant as a walk-in on a Monday evening. That was unrealistic. So we made a reservation for the following evening and when we showed up next, the proprietor (a remarkable one man show) was expecting us, welcoming us by name. The room was on the smaller size but tastefully appointed. The... More
