Still waiting for the waiter.....

Sitting here on a Saturday evening the place is full but sitting upstairs I cannot seem to get the attention of a lone waiter and his occasional assistant running around taking care of all the tables. Food was ok- low on spice and moderately flavorful. I came all the way to China town to try some... read more

Sadly, the quality of the food and service did not match the beautiful decor! We had to wait for a very long time to get the food and the waiters didn't seem to care much about whether our orders had been taken or not. We ordered the set menu which was quite disappointing: the food was just okay.

Whenever you feel like Thai food, or want a romantic diner in a very nice decor (and Thai food!), this is the place to go. Unlike most of Asian restaurants in the area, the decor is great. You walk on a glass floor and under your feet is water with fishes. Nice tables, good service, a really good place to... More

I like this restaurant for its entry (very palacy) and its decor at the inside. I go there quite a lot- the food is good, the service polite and you have enough space (which is not always the case in Parisian restaurants!)

We arrived without reservation, because the row at our first option lao lane xang 2 was much too long. The springrolls werent very tasty, they did not seem handmade. The portions arent very big and i have my doubts about the cleanness of the place.

Located just a shot walk from the Tolbiac metro (L7) stop, this restaurant is at the start of the busy asian quarter. Arrived without reservation Sunday lunchtime as a party of six, children and adults. The doorway leads you immediately onto the top of the "fish tank" unusual idea and guaranteed to cause a roadblock if like me you have... More

This place is nice with a crazy devoration. Food is ok but not that original for a place with this kind of decoration. You expect much more when you enter a place like this. Finally the prices are a bit high...

This is a great place to eat and whenever Im in Paris I try to have at least one visit a bit out of the city centre but minutes form the Metro station. . The staff are always friendly and attentive and the food is well presented and full of flavour

Staying in Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique

Neighborhood Profile
Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique
Far off the beaten path, this part of Paris is a forgotten gem worth exploring. Avenue d’Ivry houses Europe's largest Chinatown with great Asian supermarkets and shops, and a thrilling atmosphere around Chinese New Year. Place d’Italie impresses onlookers as soon as they set their eyes on it. Not far, around La Butte aux Cailles, the streets suddenly imitate provincial France and you’ll feel like you’ve been transported. The beauty of these streets lies in their surprises around every twist and turn.
