A restaurant has opened at 14 rue de la Banque in Paris and carries the name of its originator: LIZA. Liza Soughayar is very much like the place she has created; from a different Lebanon, one that is oriental and modern, simple and sophisticated... Contemporary. To express this particular image of Lebanon, she worked with her husband Ziad Asseily for his creativity and love of food. A simple menu and fresh products... Her cuisine renounces nothing; however, she reinvents the Lebanese table in a space conceived for her, in the new interpretation of old partitions. Great lunch - wonderful creative Lebanese food, love the lunch platters - excellent wines by the glass and warm service - highly recommend. Also, no other tourists at lunch both times we visited, also a plus for us.

I had read about this place somewhere and since I love lebanese food I had made a note to try it some day. So a few weeks ago I booked a table at Liza for a Friday night, during a weekend I was spending in Paris with two friends. We came at 8:30 and the place was almost empty, which... More

I've eaten at quite a few Lebanese restaurants both in Lebanon and across the world so I think I know what I'm talking about. This one has been quite disappointing. The food is average, quite bland. They serve it in what looks like dog bowls... Their mezze plate has 5 different appetizers, each served in a small bowl. I asked... More

Very nice restaurant cool decor , we had the cheaper taster menu and there was loads of food the starters came in a long dish with lovely dips , the main was lovely soft lamb but more than we could eat and the puddings were delicious all eight of them including a lovely Turkish delight ice cream and a sort... My first time to try Lebanese crusine, similar to Middle East food. The portion is unexpectedly big. I think two main courses with salad and homos can serve 4 people. The waiter and waitress are so so not very attentive, could be too busy for them. I have to admitted that the food is tasty and worth to try. Better... More

I was visiting Paris with my girlfriend and we thought it would be nice if we tried some Lebanese food. I checked from Internet and it seemed that Liza is a good option to try. Pictures of the foods were mouth watering and everything looked very good, until we actually went there and tried for ourselves. The restaurant is clean,... More

We enjoyed our meal at Lizas' after touring the Opera and "window" shopping at the Galleries Lafettye. It was cool, spacious and the wait staff was fantastic. The food was really good but pricey. Excellent mint iced tea but be ready to pay 5.50E. The convenience and location helps offset the price.

I just loved it so much. Liza is a modern Lebanese restaurant, the food is amazing, and they're also very arranging and understanding. My boyfriend is sensitive to gluten, so the chef made sure there was no gluten in his plate. I keep coming back to this restaurant but I always forget to reserve a table and it's usually full,... At 31 euros each not cheap but for that you get a great assortment of meze; fresh juice; and coffee; main course and dessert. Beware though when it says stops at 3.30 they instantaneously start clearing up so leave yourself plenty of time.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
