This retro cocktail bar has a gorgeous ambiance and wonderfully friendly staff. Serving wines, beers as well as some interesting cocktails the laid back vibe is a welcomey relief to the overly styled and intimidating Marais set. Fantastic tunes being played also; everything from rockabilly through 80s electronica. Recommended.

When I pay 12 euros a cocktail, I expect a good cocktail. However, when I complain that the cocktail tastes of toothpaste and I have the drink taken away from me and I'm asked to leave,I expect my money back. When I get neither of these, I wonder how this arrogant bar manager is allowed to continue trading. I suggest... More

This is a very nice little bar to get a drink. It's a small bar with a laid back atmosphere. They have a nice cocktail menu and the service is friendly. It's a great place to stop for a drink if you've been shopping in the Marais or are waiting for a table at a nearby restaurant.

Visiting from Canada I happened into this tiny walking street bar which was fantastic. The Bar Tenders worked constantly on mixing drinks and serving the crowded little bar with low seating and a great street view. The upper floors also had seating. Would recommend the mohitos for sure made by Jean!!

We loved it here and visited on a couple of nights for cocktails - definitely recommend for a relaxed, indie atmosphere playing great music xo

I've now been 3 times and it is really fun. Great cocktails and chilled people watching venue. Lots of seating and people walking by. Also great for a late afternoon drink as well.

Late night cocktails in a great setting, with fantastic people watching and laid-back but attentive staff. A bit grungy, though that was what we were looking for! Staff were very understanding with a mess-up with the bill (our mistake) - definitely would go back!

We ended up in Les Etages rather by chance while meandering around the streets, but had a very pleasant evening in this quirky bar. The cocktails were very good and we spent the majority of our night in there as a consequence.

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
