Our Favorite Dinner in Pars- a don't miss

Our dinner here was incredible! It was a tiny restaurant but felt very authentic. The pre-set menu meant the meal was incredible and we got to try some things we may not have otherwise ordered. The people were very friendly and the experience incredible. I wouldn't miss this!

Le Timbre. 3 rue Sainte Beuve, Paris (0145491040) Reopened under new management 9th September 2014 they explained when we made a booking for the 3rd October. It was nine-thirty p.m. when four of us arrived to take the last four (reserved) seats - much to the disappointment of the four ladies who had to move out of the doorway to... More

This was our second time at Le Timbre, and it was even better!!! Such a sweet restaurant -just 11 tables and everything about it is charming!!! the staff, the food, the clientele. It is a set menu, and the chef does not disappoint. Also, fabulous wine selection.

Five of us had dinner here as we walked past earlier in the day and liked the look of the menu. We all had different dishes and they were delicious. It ended up being the best dinner we had over our whole weekend. Very reasonable for the quality of the food and the area. So glad paris is once again... More

We loved the previous incarnation of this "postage stamp" sized restaurant - open kitchen, tables squished together, interesting wine list, chalkboard menu changed almost daily, friendly banter with the staff and were rather nervous to learn it had recently changed owners. The new version is nice enough a certainly more of a refined experience (pristine white table linens, printed individual... More

Phenomenal food and excellent experience. Dinner tonight was best we have had in the neighborhood, and would recommend them to anyone. Four courses (for two), fromage, and a glass of great wine for just under €100. Server tonight was kind and accommodating. Began attempting to describe the menu this evening, but anything would just pale in comparison. Without hesitation, planning... More

It was a last minute booking but we were extremely happy with the three menus served in reasonable portions, neither too small for this kind of refined and inventive cuisine, nor too big as is often the case in restaurants rated high by "Americans in Paris". Add to that very smiling service and not too much wait in a restaurant... More

I really loved this place, small and cosy - the service was efficient and friendly and the food was amazing, as good as Michelin star restaurants that I have eaten in , in the UK ! The menu only offers 3 set meals, but don't worry just select the one you like and go for it - I wouldn't normally... More

Like other reviewers, I had booked this restaurant as I had often eaten there when Chris Wright was the chef. It was very enjoyable then, and is still a very enjoyable experience now. The new owners, Agnes (pron Anne-yes !) and chef Charles have simplified things to suit their style, so now you have single choice for each course, but... More

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
