Amazing. From the incredible slow cooked pork starter, awesome melt-in-the-mouth duck main, to a beautiful poached pear, my girlfriend and I had a wonderful meal at Le Timbre. It must be because the chef is from Manchester! Far better than the more expensive Closerie Des Lilas, this elbow-to-elbow little gem was a great recommendation by our Hotel. I cannot recommend... more

Booked a table for 2 at 8:45 PM four days in advance just to be told upon arrival, at 8:30PM, that we had arrived to late... Obviously the chef has a very short memory and was clearly not ready to make the best of our evening. He suggested that we could stay but had to leave at 10PM because the... more

Given the reviews I was expecting better. I had snails which were bland and rubbery and really did not work. Then duck which was under average for Paris. I don't know why this place is so highly rated. Quite charming, friendly people, but a weird way to run a restaurant. One chef who is also bookings (he answers the phone... more

We thought the food here was great but it was pretty expensive. On being seated we were asked if we wanted to start with a champagne (well, who wouldn't?) but I was shocked to find that each glass was 8 euro and it wasn't even presented in a decent glass. I wanted a bottle of sav blanc but there wasn't... more

Only in Paris you can find a staff of three running a 25 seats restaurant in 30 square meters. Food is great, the cook is cooking right in front of you, prices are very interesting and you have a nice choice. It is not a romantic restaurant in the sense that you are very close to other guests, but it's... more

I and my wife had a dinner in Le Timbre on 3 Oct. We made a reservation a week ago. I was told that the restaurant was full at 7:30pm and they could only have table at 9:30pm. Since the restaurant is so popular, I thought I didn't choose a wrong place. We took a subway and got off at... more

Upon checking the reviews on Tripadvisor, we went to Le Timbre at end-September. Tons of selections on the menu (20+ dishes and apparently all cooked by the owner chef which was very impressive). The restaurant is the smallest we have ever been. Because of the size of the restaurant, I felt like we were dining as a family with all... more

Honestly, I do not understand the other reviews. I had an enjoyable meal but far from astonishing. I was looking forward to eating at Le Timbre. One thing everyone should know about eating in PARIS is that the TIP is always included. IT'S THE LAW. You can always leave a bit more. Don't ask about Service Compleat in places like... more

We were told we would have to sit cheek to jowl with our fellow diners, and this is NO exaggeration, but the wonderful food and the service is well worth it! Be sure to make a reservation or you WILL NOT get in! more

I'd love to return again, would recommend it to anybody - for great food and unique experience of sharing your meal with strangers on both sides:) Wait with ordering until they serve food to your fellow diners - you will know perfectly what to order or not. Just look at your neighbors' faces :) more
