Beautifully presented food, wine too expensive

Nice ingredients, nice preparation. Good result finally. Actually wines are a little bit expensive, but in line with the french market. Globally price per person a little high, but due to the quality provided and the chef involved. Nice experience.

We went the restaurant in the beginning of May by recommendation of friend, the restaurant runs by the Japanese, half of clients are japanese in the restaurant. two people serve in the restaurant for all the guests, and the chef and another person in the kitchen only, around 30 persons in the restaurant, a Saturday evening, fully booked. We found... More

Since I live in Japan, when I recently spent a couple days in Paris, a new Japanese friend and long-time Paris resident suggested this place. To be completely honest, if I hadn't known ahead of time that the chef was Japanese, the food alone might not have given it away--it was VERY French. But armed with that info, I was... More

Paris is not as big as you think. From my hotel in the 12th, Bercy district, a 10 minute taxi ride was all that was needed to get me to Le Sot L'y Laisse. My host, a foodstuffs exporter, made a reservation the week before, and we arrived at 1930pm on the appointed day and were the first guests for... More

We went the restaurant partly because it's well recommended and partly because I want to have some less rich but French dishes. We are absolutely happy to chose the restaurant which are mainly run by a Japanese chef who has been working for a well known French restaurant in Tokyo area and his wife. Fish dishes were fresh and not... More

This restaurant is very casual with little thought to decor and only one person serving the entire restaurant. The food, however, is wonderful as other reviewers have attested. This inbalance is awkward - clearly the reason for trekking out to this "far away" arrondisment for a visitor to Paris is for amazing food at a great value. But the decor... More

My friend and I were in Paris in November. Our friend had a reservation at this restaurant that she couldn't use so we suggested we go there. We had an amazing experience! It's a bit out of the way (not in the heart of tourist areas), but that's part of what's lovely about it. I'm pretty sure we were the... More

Our friend recommended that we try this restaurant in the 11eme. This tiny restaurant with a capacity of maybe 25-seats has gone through several owners in the past couple of years, with Eiji Doihara, a Japanese chef with a classical French resumé holding the current reigns. It's an extremely simple restaurant, and devoid of almost any decoration. We were 4.... More
