Great Steak Frites!

If you like steak frites this is the place. There is nothing else on the menu and the steak sauce is like crack cocaine. One taste and you are addicted. If you want something other than steak frites you're out of luck.

Salad, Steak (with some kind of magical, addictive sauce), Fries, House Wine. That's it - and believe me, that's all you need. Don't be scared away by the line - it moves quickly! The food is so yummy and they just keep bringing it (and the sauce, which I could have eaten alone). All you have to do is decide... More

There is only one option on the menu--steak and fries. Only have to decide on drink and if you want dessert, which can be a nice relief after eating out a lot while on vacation. The crème brulee was classically delicious. Décor at the Monparnasse location is very well done. The staff was attentive and very friendly. Made for a... More

Visited twice!! So simple, yet delicious! Steak and fries a must in Paris! Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Staff was fluent in English. House wine was perfect and the Creme Brûlée was THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD!!! If you love Creme Brûlée, have it here! You will not regret it! I made sure to savor every spoonful!

There are 2 restaurants, one more is in 20 Rue Saint Benoit. Anyway, you have to make reservation before coming there. The place is beautiful and elegant. Once you are seated, you will be given the drinks menu. Choose your drink and for the food they're all the same, the difference is between well done / medium done for the... More

We had planned to return to Le Relais de l'Entrecote since our first visit to Paris. Our kids (age 8 and 10) are big meat lovers so we were all in agreement on returning. We arrived early (6:30 or so) for the 7:00pm open time. We weren't even the first in line. By the time the restaurant opened, there was... More

I guess there is something to be said about a restaurant you just waltz in and not have to worry about what you want to order. There was definitely a wait when we got there around 730pm. The wait was well worth it. You sit down, and they ask you how you want your steak. I wanted med-rare, but apparently... More

I heard of a place that you just walk-in, sit down and get served the most wonderful steak frites on the planet. I mean so good that people have been trying to copy the recipe for the sauce for decades. If you enjoy being told what to eat and how then you will love this place. I do. Granted it's... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
