Great for Lunch

We enjoyed our lunch on a sunny afternoon. It is a very small and intimate place with fine linens and rich, dark decor. The major draw back to the place is the lack of outdoor seating - they lack the sidewalk space as the door to the establishment opens immediately to the street. Located across... read more

After reading some other reviews and noting the two toque rating from Gault Millau, we were looking forward to a good meal. The restaurant has good ambiance - chandeliers, candles and fresh roses on each table. It is popular. The service is good, the staff friendly, unfortunately the kitchen is not up to the task. Following a good review for... More

Cosy ambiance, sort of dark and intimate, and while the tables are a bit too close together for comfort, we spent a very pleasant evening. Magret de canard and St Jacques for starters, then we went for meats: iberico pork and beef. Everything was escellently prepared and beautifully presented. Same for the desserts: chocolate cake and tarte of blueberries. The... More

Le Reminet is absolutely amazing in every way. You MUST go! Top class service from very knowledgeable and attentive staff. The standard of food is very high indeed - on par (and at a fraction of the price) with some of London's top class establishments. Very small restaurant so book in advance to avoid disappointment. Would I return, without a... More

We went to this restaurant because we saw that it had great reviews on TripAdvisor... We were not disappointed! The style of food is French, so if you are a foodie, it will be right up your alley. The service is amazing as well. I know some people complained about the "slow" service but this isn't the United States where... More

I was looking round the area and this place caught my eye. A friendly welcome and I was squeezed into a small but comfortable space. Service was prompt and I chose a cold starter and a fish main course. The starter took ages to arrive, ages, even though it was a cold starter. By the time it arrived, I was... More

Service is friendly, knowledgeable and conpletely unstuffy - bravo! Visiting again after a year and standards of service and food remain very high. If you have over-indulged at lunch then look no further than the Noix St Jacques as your main course, having skipped the starters. It is excellent. Filets de Sole pronounced very good too. Superb cheese board: a... More

The service was too long and the food was average. I think they can improve a lot because it's was not at all a bad experience. May be because it was fully booked this evening and they don't have enough time for quality. We wait almost 40 minutes between each meal. The position is great and easy to find.

After the foie gras appetizer, the main course of sole with pancetta on creamed spinach with a lemon butter sauce, I was treated to a fabulous dessert: a chocolate ball filled with ice cream, a poached fig, and a hazlenut mousse, propped up an a ring of bread pudding, with accompanying fruit sauces. Presentation and quality were lovely. Service was... More

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
