Description: This St-Germain des Pres landmark continues to thrive as it has done since...
This St-Germain des Pres landmark continues to thrive as it has done since the turn of the last century. The classic Art Nouveau brasserie style is still elegant, with ivy arches, swooping iron banisters to the mezzanine, ironwork facade, and beautifully lit glass ceiling fanlights. You'll feel as if you're having a real Parisian experience and you are, you are. The menu is classic French. Try starter of wonderful fruits de mer, main course of calves liver meuniere with caramelised salsify and broccoli, and pudding of fantastic 'Saint Germain' ice cream sundae.

Good food, great atmosphere - fast food it is not !

I have eaten here three times now and the food has been excellent on each occasion . Don't go if you want a quick meal - the service is not the fastest but the staff are really friendly and helpful . Last visit was with two children and the front of house chap went out of his way to entertain... read more

After a day of enjoying Paris I was ready for a good meal. My plan was to end up at Le Petit Zinc for dinner and barely made it before the rain started pouring. The attraction here is the exquisite Art Nouveau decor coupled with fine dining. The staff are friendly, very accommodating and professional. I had eaten a late... More

The food was good here and recommended by one of our tour guides in Paris. We were a little frustrated when we showed up having a reservation but then the host sat 2 other groups who just walked in off the street without one while we stayed waiting for another 5 minutes. Apart from that, the food was good. The... More

When I was a boy my parents lived in Paris for 3 years until late 1979 and a real treat was to dine at Le Petit Zinc. The restaurant has always evoked happy memories for my family. Thus upon a 3 day visit to Paris last week (and now with my own family) I was detirmined we should go and... More

We ate here twice - both times on very hot evenings, so it was just lovely to sit outside here and enjoy the atmosphere of the surroundings as well as the food. Both .were very busy and we were lucky to get a table. The service was not quick, but we were happy to have a leisurely meal, and the... More

Wonderful evening. Fish is the specialite, but broad choice of menu. Good service, nice atmosphere. Excellent choice of wines. Well worth a detour if you are not staying on the left bank.

Recommended by our hotel staff. The restaurant did not seem to have many if any other tourists so we felt like locals! The menu is traditionally french and delicious. Definitely the best restaurant in the area!

Pretty good food, with a reasonably priced set menu (we mixed our choices up a bit). Excellent, friendly service. Delighted to recommend to anyone who wants a thoroughly pleasant evening meal, with special service

Nice Art Deco style restaurant with typical french cuisine. This is my second visit. They have a few tables outside along the restaurant windows, which is is really nice in the summer. However I would not recommend it except in August when traffic is much lighter. There is a la carte (approx 60€/p exc wine) or set menues (35€) which... More

It was a busy, hot night all over St. Germaine, and we were lucky to get a table (although we had to sit inside - the terrace was booked for some time ahead, no AC but it wasn't too bad.) We could have spent a lot here, the seafood platter looked as good as Rick Stein's, but we were not that... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
