Description: This St-Germain des Pres landmark continues to thrive as it has done since...
This St-Germain des Pres landmark continues to thrive as it has done since the turn of the last century. The classic Art Nouveau brasserie style is still elegant, with ivy arches, swooping iron banisters to the mezzanine, ironwork facade, and beautifully lit glass ceiling fanlights. You'll feel as if you're having a real Parisian experience and you are, you are. The menu is classic French. Try starter of wonderful fruits de mer, main course of calves liver meuniere with caramelised salsify and broccoli, and pudding of fantastic 'Saint Germain' ice cream sundae.

Good food in art deco surroundings

This was a good start to our dining experiences in Paris this winter. Oysters, Salmon and Steak were all very nice.

Really love this place. Our second visit did not disappoint. Having enjoyed our dinner here last August we felt compelled to give a second shot.....fantastic!! The display of seafood in the street is a major positive, and sort of forces you to try! Wonderfully fresh langoustines, crab and scallops were all great. Service was impeccable and the Art Deco surroundings... More

From the time you enter the front door you step back in time to the Art Nouveau era. The setting is breathtaking. They specialize in sea food which is served artistically also. The service was very good but not excellent. But the quality of the food and the setting still made this a 5 star evening.

I missed finding Le Petit Zinc my first night in Paris. The professional staff at my hotel had recommended it but I suppose I was just too tired. Thankfully, I made a second attempt after an all day outing at the Louvre. As a solo traveler, I sometimes find I'm given one of the worst seats in the house -... More

Surprised to get a table at late notice On New Year's Eve. Seafood was lovely and fresh, the escargot was nice but a touch earthy. Service was friendly if a little slow but polite. Prices are €10-€30 for starter, mains are €15 to €75, wine is from €30. The decor is Art Deco and very nice. Overall a good experience... More

Booked this restaurant for Christmas Eve dinner with our teenage kids. We were anticipating something very special but it turned out to be just ok. The setting is very formal but yet not pretentious. White table clothes, silver candles, etc. We were served an amuse bouche of raw salmon and foie gras which was good. The menu is primarily fish... More

We have been coming here on and off for the last 15 years and every time it's a joy, whether a summer supper or a winter lunch. A long mid week lunch of foie gras and onion soup to start was followed by succulent steak and frites for us both and then caramelised pineapple for him and chocolate fondant for... More

Very good fish restaurant in heart of St Germain one of Paris most beautiful areas with good shopping and boutique hotels. Walked in with no reservation on Sunday late afternoon in mid December, staff couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. Very good menu with fish and meat dishes not too expensive. Good wine list and excellent deserts. The interior... More

This is a typical French brasserie with excellent service and great French food. We started with French onion soup which was one of the best I have tasted and then went onto one of the daily specials - roast pork which was also good. They also specialise in sea food which we didn't try. It is not cheap but excellent... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
