This St-Germain des Pres landmark continues to thrive as it has done since the turn of the last century. The classic Art Nouveau brasserie style is still elegant, with ivy arches, swooping iron banisters to the mezzanine, ironwork facade, and beautifully lit glass ceiling fanlights. You'll feel as if you're having a real Parisian experience and you are, you are. The menu is classic French. Try starter of wonderful fruits de mer, main course of calves liver meuniere with caramelised salsify and broccoli, and pudding of fantastic 'Saint Germain' ice cream sundae.

My wife and I enjoyed Easter brunch at this great restaurant. We really liked the atmosphere a very whimsical and charming decor. We were treated to a drink as soon as we were seated, I'm not sure but it was some sort of rose sparkling wine. The french onion soup was the best we have ever had. The pate was... More

Only a few short steps away from the church of St Germain des Prés, Le Petit Zinc is the first restaurant we always book when visiting Paris. The intimate and romantic feel of this beautifully decorated Art Deco restaurant together with its great food, wine and service constantly draws us back. This is a place in which you can relax... This is the place to go for the service, food and art nouveau decor. The fixed price menu is the best value and you can still have oysters for starters. It is worth going for the seafood and oysters in particular. I chose to try three different types and all were sensational. Afterwards we spoke to the restaurant's oyster shucker... More

Romantic meal for two with a selection of a pricey la carte steaks and fishes or menu of day better priced. The food on both menus was excellent.

Situated by St Germain metro this is a classic French restaurant that serves good quality food and wine in a friendly and cosy environment. Staff are friendly and helpful. Whilst not a vegetarian restaurant they do provide vegetarian options on demand. Whilst a bit more expensive than other restaurants in the area this place is worth a visit.

My friends and I have been going to this restaurant for years and it has had really bad and slow service in he past. Today, my friend and I stopped in for lunch and the menu was really good, especially the express menu. Our food was really really good. The chef did a great job and the service was friendly... More

I had only one night in Paris (which was a 14-hour layover) and being my third time in this sublime city, I wanted my one meal to be sublime as well. Le Petite Zinc is a beautiful, high end brasserie. The customer service is fantastic. It is a special place for Parisians as well. In one table, a couple was... More

We dropped into this place on a recent business trip to Paris. The look of the restaurant was the driving factor for us. Clearly specialising in seafood, we were impressed by the seafood counter outside of the restaurant. A counter where you could buy most shell fish and oysters to take home and cook yourself. Our lunch was not crustacean... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
