Description: This St-Germain des Pres landmark continues to thrive as it has done since...
This St-Germain des Pres landmark continues to thrive as it has done since the turn of the last century. The classic Art Nouveau brasserie style is still elegant, with ivy arches, swooping iron banisters to the mezzanine, ironwork facade, and beautifully lit glass ceiling fanlights. You'll feel as if you're having a real Parisian experience and you are, you are. The menu is classic French. Try starter of wonderful fruits de mer, main course of calves liver meuniere with caramelised salsify and broccoli, and pudding of fantastic 'Saint Germain' ice cream sundae.

Lovely dinner

We ate dinner on a Sunday night. The service was exceptional, the food was very good. We had the steak, which was just ok. My sister and mother had two different types of fish, both good. It was a bit pricey compared to the other meals we enjoyed, but the restaurant is very pretty inside and... read more

The location is brilliant. Food is ordinary. I was there for breakfast abs it wasn't great but cheap by Oaris standards so can't exlect too much. Coffee was better than most places though. What is lovely is the paintings and exterior. It's very cute.

Dear Tamara, We're glad that you enjoy your time at the Petit Zinc. Furthermore, it's not often that we read comments about our breakfast which as you said it deserves too to be tried. Kind regards, Antoine B. avis@blanc.net More

Unfortunately all what's left of a used to be really nice place is its interior and location. Highly disappointed with the last couple of visits, seems it is moving more and more towards becoming one of the tourist traps. Last visit was booked 2 months (!) in advance to celebrate an important family anniversary. Were greeted with a grumpy, tired... More

To say the least, we were disappointed in the quality of the food, some based on what we had, and some based on neighboring tables. But in summary, it just wasn't that good compared to the last time we were here 8 years ago. First problem, we were given water in a carafe that was filthy dirty. It had to... More

Booked this restaurant due to personal recommendation for an anniversary dinner. Sorry to say it did not come up to expectation. I had the set menu and my husband had dishes from the main menu. Really nothing special and my mashed potato with the cod was lumpy ; can do better myself. Our "romantic " table by the window was... More

"Dear Guest, We're sorry that you didn't enjoy your anniversary dinner. However you have to know that our food is prepared by our chef from fresh high quality products which explains the price. As you say, feeling the atmosphere of the Petit Zinc is really a part of the experience too. We hope to see you again to prove you... More

This was a return visit to this seafood and shellfish-oriented restaurant (there are non seafood alternatives too) in the heart of the left bank just a block from Boulevard Saint-Germain. This is several notches better than the casual bistros in the area, so not an inexpensive option but very much worth it. The dishes were outstanding, with suitable wines to... More

My wife and I enjoyed Easter brunch at this great restaurant. We really liked the atmosphere a very whimsical and charming decor. We were treated to a drink as soon as we were seated, I'm not sure but it was some sort of rose sparkling wine. The french onion soup was the best we have ever had. The pate was... More

Only a few short steps away from the church of St Germain des Prés, Le Petit Zinc is the first restaurant we always book when visiting Paris. this restaurant is around the corner from our apartment so we have long been meaning to give it a try, drawn in by the beautiful deco exterior, and the super seafood display outside. Last night was the occassion. Inside is charming, although maybe not as impressive as outside decor wise, happily for Paris there is some breathing space between the... More

This is the place to go for the service, food and art nouveau decor. The fixed price menu is the best value and you can still have oysters for starters. It is worth going for the seafood and oysters in particular. I chose to try three different types and all were sensational. Afterwards we spoke to the restaurant's oyster shucker... More
