I know the restaurant is just a few blocks from Notre Dame, but I'm telling you it is fantastic. Tucked away on a quiet street, you can tell this is where tourists and locals both come for a quality meal. It was perfectly cooked, the staff was incredibly friendly, and the wine actually changed the way I shop for Chardonnay.... More

There's no denying that the premises, food and service are very good but I think this restaurant is a little overpriced. During our stay in Paris we had excellent value for money (food wise, drinks remain ridiculously expensive) paying 60/70 euros for casual dinners for two, we payed approximately double that here and struggle to identify how it was so... As always, Le Petit Pointoise does not disappoint. The food was excellent as was the service. We have never had a bad meal or experience at this restaurant.

It has a warm/cozy atmosphere and the hostess/waitress was so kind and friendly - a big welcoming smile that was constant - kind despite my halting bit of French. She kindly filled in the English where I lacked the French. Our food was amazing. We would have been totally satisfied with just the bread and Camenbert cheese appetizer that was... More

The restaurant looks directly onto Notre Dame, and is next to Shakespeare &Company. In good weather, it has outdoor seating,a and it's open late so you can see the city sites late into the night. The food is reasonably priced (as are the drinks). It's great for a quick breakfast, lunch, or a late night dinner/drink.

Booked late on the recommendation of our hotel and luckily got a table. From the moment we walked in the service was friendly warm and helpful. A great wine to open followed by excellent entrees and mains. Highlight was the swordfish main. Highly recommended.

Every time we are in Paris we have dinner at least once at Le Petit Pontoise. A small bistro on a side street off Blvd. St Germain, the food is consistently inventive and well executed. I love the pork cheeks in honey and spices, my husband loves their perfectly grilled steak. A small but satisfying wine list and delicious desserts.... More

Tucked away on a Latin Quarter side street one half block from the Seine, this tiny yet relaxed old world style bistro offers simple, top quality classics at reasonable prices. The wine list (est. 60+) has been thoughtfully selected with superb taste but prices that can escalate quickly. The scallops, in a vegetable medley and sauce is not only lite... More

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner.
