The restaurant has been a Paris institution for celebrities since Napoleon. The menu is extremely traditional and formal; this is not nouvelle cuisine! The room is divided into small sections, with high ceilings and gilt mirrors that somehow make each small section seem both intimate and spacious. Tables have little signs indicating whose favorite table it might have been 50... More

Nothing ever seems to go wrong in this superb place. The food is sublime, the staff very jolly and helpful, certainly not stuffy. Enjoy a special occasion with the best food ever. Don't believe anyone who says otherwise.

An institution in Paris and my second visit, having been for lunch a couple of years ago. This time it was a Saturday evening meal. Convivial atmosphere with slick and professional service, the restaurant was full though no table encroached on another. Personally I opted for Foie Gras ravioli; delicate and lightly cooked foie gras with al dente pasta and... More

Actually, I would rate the restaurant overall 3.5, because it was slightly above average. I've been to a few Michelin starred restaurants, so I do have a point of comparison. First let me say, the restaurant is beautiful and filled with history, but what separates a Michelin starred restaurant with the rest are the fine details. Let's start with the... More

We chose Le Grand Vefour for my 60th Birthday dinner, being the best restaurant, serving the finest french cuisine, in a city that is unsurpassed in terms of fine dining. It was transcendent, and gracious in every way.

We went for dinner with a friend who had been there before and told us that Napoleon had dined there with Marie Antoinette ... Amazing! What a special treat to dine in the same room were such historic figures had also been The place is full of beautiful objects and very attentive staff. No one, however told us any more... More

When we arrived, just on time following a reservation made a weak in advance, we were met by the maître de salle. After recognizing our name he instructed the waiter to sit us with Colette. It was a corner table where she spent time with Jean Cocteau. Their presence was felt throughout almost perfect lunch. Of course it was called... More

For years I have looked into this restaurant in the Palais Royale, but have been put off by how expensive it is. A friend told us about the lunch menu, which is much more affordable, so my husband and I decided to try it. Wow! The food was wonderful, and the staff was warm and helpful, but the real treat... Enchanting guests since 1784, this is a gastronomic and historic landmark. I had seen pictures of the grand salon, and was pleasantly surprised that it is only used on special occasions. The actual restaurant where we had our dinner was quite cozy and despite the historic fame and two Michelin stars, we found the ten staff servicing a total of... More

If you seek a memorable dining experience in an outstanding historic location, it is worth the price. Yes, a bit overpriced. Nevertheless, our servers were so very attentive without rushing us in any way. Our first conversation with the staff was a long one about the history of the restaurant with facts I did not find on the lengthy internet... More
