Many thanks to the friends who recommended this site. We were greeted by the doorman and maitre de with all due courtesy. This anticipated the level of service and food to follow. Choosing from the lunch set menu, we were treated to excellent food over the several courses. Each course was memorable. We shared our meals so as to extend... More

Excellent restaurant with history, where absolutely every little detail is well thought out. Palace interiors decorated with gold, paintings, leather and wood. The place comprises several spacy dining halls and one smaller room on the second floor, which is just perfect for family dinner or important business negotiations. The menu is menticulously elaborated. The food served was delicious and the... More

We chose the prix fixe lunch as a relatively affordable way to try out a classic French restaurant that is rich on history and atmosphere. We chose the 3 course prix fixe meal, and started out with the best glass of champagne I have ever had. The menu offerings provided enough options for a seafood eater that does not eat... More

Came to this restaurant for special lunch with former French au pair and her husband as lunch is much more reasonable than the dinner. The historic and central Paris setting, the decor, the service and the delicious food were all appreciated. For those of us who enjoy a classic, well prepared french meal, this was perfect but was perhaps not... More

First when you enter the restaurant you really feel the soul of this historic place. You have the name of historic and famous people who came here. Some from other centuries. The service is at the level and Is perfect. Finally the food is very good but very classical nothing crazy. To be honest I expected something more surprising and... More

This restaurant has three Michelin stars and has been in continuous operation, more or less, since 1760. That was not really the reason we went....but friends we respect had really encouraged us to go for the prix fixe lunch...and what a treat it was! The food and service lived up to all the ravings of others. Four amazing courses, beginning... More

In all the time we have spent in Paris (LOTS) we have never anted up the Euros required to lunch here (lunch is always as good as dinner and much less expensive in any outstanding Parisian restaurant). It was worth the wait and the Euros expended. It has wonderful history, But the food is outstanding. I would say that it... More

This restaurant oozes history and charm, and the staff are incredibly good. The food is out-of-this-world and if you only ever splurge once, come here and you won't be disappointed. The fois gras is magnificent and they can recommend a perfect glass of wine to go with it - as with every course. Even the specialty of tete-de-veau was beautiful,... More
