The restaurant premisses have been at the same place - at the historical Palais-Royal - since 1784! Amazing record for a restaurant! Things like that are only possible in cities like Paris! Fully restored, "Le Grand Véfour" is considered one of the most sumptuous restaurants of Paris. Acclaimed and starred Chef Guy Martin (** Michelin) brings inspired flavors and ingredients... More

One of the best meals I have had (and that includes Per Se and Masa in NYC and the French Laundry in CA). Service was excellent. All courses were exquisite and the chocolate dessert was to die for (but at $45 US overpriced). Pricey (figure on over $300 US per person including wine and gratuities) but worth it for a... More

A wonderfully decorated restaurant, with unmatched history and tradition. The Chef has a very respectable reputation, very nice staff as a whole. We were given by the maitre d'hotes a very nice summary of the wonderful and long history of the restaurant and the whole place where it is situated at our arrival. Bravo. Very professional and polite maitres and... More

My wife and I were here over ten years ago and just returned for a special anniversary dinner. The experience did not disappoint. Tucked away in the Palais Royale, Le Grand Vefour is a beautiful locale that merits a visit even if you don't eat there! Visit banquettes and tables frequented by Voltaire, Sartre and even Napoleon himself. The service... More

Went for lunch over Christmas. Such good value 98 euros for 4 courses plus 2more desserts and an amuse bouche. Location is simply stunning and dates back to 1780s. Service was great without being OTT. Great wine and champagne selections. Food was brilliant the monkfish and foie gras were so tasty. My gf had the duck which was best I... More

This restaurant was recommended by a friend. Booking was done on-line so no need to worry about language. Waiters are very attentive and polite. Although it stated formal dress code on the web site, a jacket is enough. We ordered the 10-course tasting menu. The sommelier was very helpful and recommended a very nice bottle of wine. The cheese cart... More

During our month trip to France we had the good fortune of dining in many excellent restaurants. However, by far and away, Le Grand Vefour was the champion. My husband and I dined here with our 7-year-old son who was the only child present. Chef Guy Martin graciously posed for a picture with us before service began. We were seated... More

I'd a great time there with my husband on a Monday afternoon. The restaurant was surprisingly busy - in fact, I think it was a full house! The service was warm and inviting; I just wished they had the menu in English too, so we could properly appreciate what we were eating. Anyhow, here's the gist of it: Starters -... More

so disappointed. I had thought this would be a lovely evening. My mistake was probably to go in the evening when the prices are outrageous and not warranted for what is served. Expect €96 to €128 for just a main course and €298 per person for tasting menu. I have been too many Michelin star restaurants over the years in... More

We spend much time in Paris and have eaten at quite a few of what are probably thought of as the top end restaurants. For us, Grand Vefour was different as the location was genuinely "olde worlde" and is truly picturesque...quite a few Paris restaurants are now becoming, just in my opinion, too modern. The price is hefty but not... More
