Friend's 1st visit to Paris, she loved it!

Ok, this may not be a family restaurant, and certainly the pricing isn't "family oriented". But that doesn't mean the four of us didn't have an excellent time. My first visit was when my wife was still my fiancee and we didn't have two kids (now 8 and 10) in tow. Remembering we had a memorable dinner there, we just... More

My lunch this past October was perhaps the most memorable I have ever indulged in. The combination of location, service, ambiance and most of all, the food, made for a stellar meal in my favorite city in the world. The setting for this formidable restaurant in the Palais Royal is spectacular. The foie gras amuse bouche, Guy Martin's signature foie... More

For the first time in my life I went with a business contact to the grand vefour. It is a very special place. Tucked away in a side street near palais royale the restaurant is discrete. When I went it was very quiet with only 3 tables taken. A waiter came over and ran me through the history of the... More

It is still one of the iconic restaurants of Paris. It keeps satisfying your senses at various levels. 1st the arrival through the beautiful arcades of the Palais Royal then the sense of history through the realisation that Napoleon, Victor Hugo and many leading individuals during the past 200 years have dined there. We have had dinner there numerous times... More

We had dined here before, so it was not a difficult choice to return here for a special birthday lunch. It is simply wonderful and we were not disappointed. Starting with the food, we had the fixed price lunch. It began with a foie gras mousse pre amuse bouche taster which predicted the foie gras ravioli amuse bouche ( a... More

We booked Le Grand Vefour for our civil wedding reception. Party of 18 people. The experience was great from beginning to end. We dined in a small private room on the 1st floor, with a very good wait staff. We never wished for a beverage or another course...they were very attentive!! The cuisine was a creative blend of many flavors,... More

Any basic customer service course tells you not to argue with the customer We made an attempt for a reservation more than a month and half ago and were turned back but not without a major drama on the part of the restaurant. I suggest a Basco customer service course I don't care how good the food is

We had a reservation for 8PM guaranteed with credit card. Arrived and promptly and warmly seated. We were the 1st in the restaurant and we thought - uh oh no french people means a tourist trap? Ok, fears allayed as the french began to pour in and the place quickly filled up. The service was just ok and not that... More

....you are not human. Setting is like stepping back in time, service is impeccable, cheese course is out of this world, dessert course just keeps on coming, and the food itself is top-notch. For a restaurant of this caliber, the portions are generous. And they could not have been nicer when we asked for "le doggy bag." My in laws... More
