For years I have looked into this restaurant in the Palais Royale, but have been put off by how expensive it is. A friend told us about the lunch menu, which is much more affordable, so my husband and I decided to try it. Wow! The food was wonderful, and the staff was warm and helpful, but the real treat... Enchanting guests since 1784, this is a gastronomic and historic landmark. I had seen pictures of the grand salon, and was pleasantly surprised that it is only used on special occasions. The actual restaurant where we had our dinner was quite cozy and despite the historic fame and two Michelin stars, we found the ten staff servicing a total of... More

If you seek a memorable dining experience in an outstanding historic location, it is worth the price. Yes, a bit overpriced. Nevertheless, our servers were so very attentive without rushing us in any way. Our first conversation with the staff was a long one about the history of the restaurant with facts I did not find on the lengthy internet... More

We booked our New Year's Eve dinner almost 2 months in advance. Because it was NYE, there was a fixed menu and what a menu - 7 or 8 courses, each of manageable size. The room was old world elegant, probably the prettiest place we've ever eaten. The service was impeccable, anticipating our every need; and pleasantly friendly. The food... More

The Grand Vefour is without a doubt the most beautiful restaurant in Paris. It's enclosed within the Palais-Royal and all the tables bear the names of famous writers who have been regulars there. The service is outstanding and so is the food. It's possible to request a special table when making the reservation to be sure you are where you... More

I had lunch at Le Vefourr in April two days after I had left Burkina Faso, in West Africa. I had known about the restaurant for forty years, and when I was a student in Paris I didn't have enough money even to buy a glass of water there. I would walk by the restaurant in the Palais Royale on... More

The restaurant premisses have been at the same place - at the historical Palais-Royal - since 1784! Amazing record for a restaurant! Things like that are only possible in cities like Paris! Fully restored, "Le Grand Véfour" is considered one of the most sumptuous restaurants of Paris. Acclaimed and starred Chef Guy Martin (** Michelin) brings inspired flavors and ingredients... More

One of the best meals I have had (and that includes Per Se and Masa in NYC and the French Laundry in CA). Service was excellent. All courses were exquisite and the chocolate dessert was to die for (but at $45 US overpriced). Pricey (figure on over $300 US per person including wine and gratuities) but worth it for a... More

A wonderfully decorated restaurant, with unmatched history and tradition. The Chef has a very respectable reputation, very nice staff as a whole. We were given by the maitre d'hotes a very nice summary of the wonderful and long history of the restaurant and the whole place where it is situated at our arrival. Bravo. Very professional and polite maitres and... More
