The restaurant's refined decor is a faithful illustration of the Art Nouveau style, with its original mosaics and its crystal Saint-Louis chandeliers a truly Parisian institution located on the Place des Ternes. The head chef prepares a refined, traditional French cuisine using the freshest ingredients. An immensely popular restaurant with both Parisians and discerning tourists, who appreciate beautifully prepared food.

I had been here several years before and not recalled the food being quite as amazing as the interior - that has changed. What a meal! I took my mum for the 'classic Paris' experience and went quite cynical with the idea that the food was a bit overpriced and under-cared for - however I was incredibly and pleasantly surprised.... We made an unplanned visit to this restaurant on our way to Galeries Lafayette, and found it quite good. The Maitre d' was a very welcoming person who spoke fluent English and gave us a nice table with a great view despite peak hours. The wine selection and the menu were quite impressive. Vegetarians wont be disappointed either! The decor... More

Le Grand Café Capucines is a Parisian landmark: locals as well as tourists know it, and on any day of the week you will see the two groups sitting side by side tucking into large plates of food. The restaurant is open 24/7 and easy to reach, the nearest Métro station being Opéra which as you may have guessed is... More

Good standard of food, excellent service and pleasant environment. Not for a special meal out but excellent when on business or a quick stopover in Paris.

Le Grande Cafe Capucines located near the Place De L'Opera, offers excellently prepared food, outstanding service, and great atmosphere. The menu affords price options for varying budgets. You can spend 30 Euros on a full meal or 130 Euros, if you are so inclined. I recommend the duck and veal dishes in particular, but I doubt you could go wrong... More

This is one restaurant that my wife and I can never forget to visit whenever we are in Paris. Their seafood assortment platter is a must as one can never go wrong with savoring top-notch fresh seafood for a price that is easy on the wallet in a five-star atmosphere with a classic Parisian touch! The waiters are professional and... More

We visited the restaurant to celebrate multiple birthdays and it was a fantastic meal. To start with the decor is proper vintage Parisian with beautiful ornate ceilings, banisters, stain glass windows. The service was first class- Waiters were attentive but without encroaching on the table. We were greeted with glasses of champage and lovely canapes. The food ordered ranged from... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
