The restaurant's refined decor is a faithful illustration of the Art Nouveau style, with its original mosaics and its crystal Saint-Louis chandeliers a truly Parisian institution located on the Place des Ternes. The head chef prepares a refined, traditional French cuisine using the freshest ingredients. An immensely popular restaurant with both Parisians and discerning tourists, who appreciate beautifully prepared food.

Why hesitate? It is superb.

Le Grand Café Capucines is a Parisian landmark: locals as well as tourists know it, and on any day of the week you will see the two groups sitting side by side tucking into large plates of food. The restaurant is open 24/7 and easy to reach, the nearest Métro station being Opéra which as you may... read more

Good standard of food, excellent service and pleasant environment. Not for a special meal out but excellent when on business or a quick stopover in Paris.

Le Grande Cafe Capucines located near the Place De L'Opera, offers excellently prepared food, outstanding service, and great atmosphere. The menu affords price options for varying budgets. You can spend 30 Euros on a full meal or 130 Euros, if you are so inclined. I recommend the duck and veal dishes in particular, but I doubt you could go wrong... More

This is one restaurant that my wife and I can never forget to visit whenever we are in Paris. Their seafood assortment platter is a must as one can never go wrong with savoring top-notch fresh seafood for a price that is easy on the wallet in a five-star atmosphere with a classic Parisian touch! The waiters are professional and... More

We visited the restaurant to celebrate multiple birthdays and it was a fantastic meal. To start with the decor is proper vintage Parisian with beautiful ornate ceilings, banisters, stain glass windows. The service was first class- Waiters were attentive but without encroaching on the table. We were greeted with glasses of champage and lovely canapes. The food ordered ranged from... More

We headed here before visiting the Opera Garnier. We ordered scrambled eggs. I found them a bit too rich (which is odd for eggs), but my girlfriend really enjoyed them. We also ordered an orange juice and a vanilla milkshake. Really good freshly squeezed juice and the milkshake was lovely. Didn't speak English and service was average, for some reason... More

Dear Tom, We're happy to read a comment about our breakfast offer which doesn't happen often. Thank you for your compliments about it, we're glad it pleased you and your girlfriend. We're sorry for the nuisance with our waitress but it was probably due to a misunderstanding. We look forward to seeing you soon and offer you a perfect service.... More

The Grand Café Capucines is a fantastic old style french brasserie which offers excellent French cuisine and classic French service. Although the food and wines are expensive - it is central Paris remember (!) - the Scottish Salmon I had was beautifully cooked and worth every centime. A special note of mention to the fantastic desserts which we shared amongst... More

Le Grand Cafe Capucines was delicious, but overpriced. Both my husband and I had an appetizer, entree and dessert, water and glasses of the house red. The frites were awesome and my hot fudge sundae was amazing. However, our meal came to $180 US dollars and it just wasn't worth it. Two nights later we ate at a 1 star... More

Even without reservation, we got a table for lunch at the first floor beside the window. The food and the service were excellent and the atmosphere is very cosy.

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
