Description: The restaurant's refined decor is a faithful illustration of the Art...
The restaurant's refined decor is a faithful illustration of the Art Nouveau style, with its original mosaics and its crystal Saint-Louis chandeliers a truly Parisian institution located on the Place des Ternes. The head chef prepares a refined, traditional French cuisine using the freshest ingredients. An immensely popular restaurant with both Parisians and discerning tourists, who appreciate beautifully prepared food.

Very Expensive, but Still a Nice Evening

This place is expensive, to be sure, but it's in a great location, has an interesting history and is decorated in sumptuous Belle Epoque burgundy velvet, stained glass and wood panelling. Our server was very polite, attentive and even smiled a bit (a rarity as most travelers to Paris know). The... read more

I went there by chance at lunch time, it was a great surprise. I got the formule at around 20 euros, The starter a great tomato carpaccio, it seems simple but the taste was really outstanding, I do not know how they did it. The main dish a lobster and chourizo risotto, very good. I will get back there to... More

We came as the last minute booking and it was full house. We were a party of four and we all had seafood for dinner. The food was very fresh and tasty, and we all loved it. However we found it too pricey compared with other restaurants we had in Paris. We were served by a few waitstaff rather than... More

Upstairs is a specific area for a higher service. I suspect the menu is different here as well. The sea food platter as a starter I liked a lot, apart from most of it being raw. The duck in orange sauce was however not very taste or sweet. It was nothing fancy at all. The wine was pretty good and... More

I've been here twice and I find it a very nice place. Too bad I was with an italian friend of mine and, as soon as the waiter understood it, he behaved so badly! Anyway, the food is awesome, but very very expensive.

Nice food, expensive for the quantity but that's to be expected in this location. The decor is exceptional. Service was efficient and courteous, except for the first waiter who took our order and barked back an indignated 'bonsoir!' when another client nearby greeted him with a friendly 'bonjour'. He continued to bark all through their order-taking. It is worse than... More

Went here tonight at 8:30. Sat outside. Ordered escargot and 2 duck entrees. The waiter repeated the order. At 10:20 no duck had arrived... we asked to sit inside as the waiter was moving the tables and chairs from outside. Everyone acted as if we were going to order dinner... when the whole time we were waiting for our DUCK...... More

Every time we visit Paris we visit this restaurant. Although we have had other dishes, they serve the best French onion soup in the world. Yes, the world.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
