My son and I thought we could have a nice lunch before parting ways in Paris. We went to Le Comptoir's lobby to inquire and make a reservation but the woman at the desk was so rude it made me very upset. Sorry, but I don't think any restaurant is worth having someone be rude when you are politely trying... More

I had a short time in Paris. I had a list of possible restaurants to choose from, but which one. I asked a local and the quickly told me to go to Le comptoir. I was glad they recommended it. The atmosphere is what you expect from a French restaurant. The service is excellent. I went with the waiter's choices... More

Was able to get a table as we stayed at Hotel Relais Saint-Germain. Food was best we had in our 6 night stay in Paris. SERIOUSLY and we had some really great food!!! Service was friendly and they didn't mind explaining the menu. Even if it were in English you would still want some help - the menu items are... More

We arrived at around 12.30 on a Friday. It is justifiably popular, so there was already a small queue. Luckily we didn't have to wait long to be seated as we agreed to sit indoors. The restaurant is small, so expect to be seated close to neighbouring tables. The food was delicious, grilled scallop salad with parmesan & beef cheek... More

The service was rushed, food was good but overpriced. This was the first meal in Paris that we felt rushed and regretted not doing our research.

We arrived around 5:30 on a Sunday evening and got the last 2 tables outside. We had eaten here a few years ago so knew there was no English menu, but the food is so good that we braved trying to interpret the French menu. We hit a home run with a carafe of the house red, beef cheek stew... More

True, it was lunch during low season. But there was no line. And we sat right down. It gave us time to Google translate the menu and crane our necks to see what others were eating. I had the scallops... good but paled in comparison to my husband's best-ever beef cheek stew. Who knew a plate could get so clean... More

Went for dinner, well booked in advance as we knew the reputation of this restaurant. We were blown away, what a natural flavours and combinations. Fixed menu so need to try to read the menu and the host and sr waiters speak excellent English anyhow. Can strongly recommend this restaurant with its small bistro setting.

Le Comptoir is one of our favourite Paris restaurants. We've been coming back for years. No visit to Paris would be complete without a meal here. This time we managed two late lunches. We always enjoy the bustle, the fun atmosphere -- everyone who gets a seat is happy to be here. But the food is the star; it's really... More
