Busy French bistro

Small, lively bistro where the small queue to get a table is fully justified. Having successfully navigated the traditional French menu my fiancé and I thoroughly enjoyed sharing 3 plates of cured meats and cheese for lunch (2 would have been plenty). The meats were great but the cheese was... read more

fantastic place not only for tourists, great atmosphere, fantastic dishes (scallops were extremely tasty), kind staff and of course how to forget the great wine. Au revoir

Some reviews were recommending beef stew and they were absolutely right (18 Euro). You have to line up since there are no bookings accepted. Fish was also good but rillette de poulet average. Unfortunately there is no menu in English available, but ladies speak some english. In general service is attentive despite being very busy. Speaking about the crowd you... More

My friend and I found this place after doing some research online...great food, friendly staff. I only wish I spoke French because everyone else in the restaurant was French and ordered what appeared to be better dishes than what we could make out. We went for Lunch and it was quite crowded. Lovely spot.

The food is so delicious and very authentic there! I stayed next door for two weeks and this place was always busy, many local people (a great sign!) a long line to get in, especially at peak hours but so worth and moving fast! Definitely will return

Excellent French fare in an assuming but perfectly lovely setting on a great street. There are a number of low-quality restaurants in the area given the high volume of tourists. This place is a notable exception.

This small place is located off Saint-Germain-des-Prés in the trendy left bank. It faces a small square in front of another cafe so there is not a lot of car traffic, making it pleasant to eat outside. We were there on New Year's Eve and the weather was unseasonably warm so we sat outside. In any case there are also... More

Best meal ever, good value for money, Foie gras out of this world, warm service though no English menu seems to be a rule there for no real reason. Spent 40 minutes waiting in line at 1945, might be worth coming earlier, All dishes were fresh, well presented and tasty in a way that makes you want to stay and... More

We often eat at a restaurant across the road and we have always noticed a queue here. Those queuing are mostly Parisians, and we assumed they do so because the food is excellent, and that is exactly what we found. We had a table next to the kitchen access, so saw everybody else's dishes too, and they all looked really... More

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
