Description: Le Cladon restaurant in Paris Hotel Westminster in the heart of the...
Le Cladon restaurant in Paris Hotel Westminster in the heart of the fashionable 2nd arrondissement is a haven of elegance and style. The Hotel was once the private residence of the Duke of Westminster, hence the name. Le Cladons dining room was designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon in recreation of a Regency style drawing room with oriental touches in tones of pale green with luxurious fittings and artwork. Executive Chef Christophe Moisand has created a menu rich in tradition and infused with innovation, using the freshest of seasonal ingredients and a refined touch. Dishes may include Breton scallops flavoured with cazette, and strawberry-poched quinces. The wine list is harmoniously chosen and the service is excellent. Le Cladon becomes Le Petit Celadon at weekends.

A really wonderful lunch and value

Le Celadon is wonderful. Lunch, in particular is an excellent value during the week - or, even better, the weekend. It becomes Le Petit Celadon and is a little less formal in feel. I've been there many, many times and not one disappointment.

Very innovative but still anchored in the tradition of the good french cuisine . Very friendly and efficient service - the ambience is rather old fashioned but nevertheless charming

My wife and I stayed at the Westminster Hotel for four nights in March and after a long day travelling wanted to stay in for our first night. We pre-booked the Celadon restaurant on line. The welcome and service were friendly and helpful. Our mixture of English and French was politely accepted, no snooty old-style Paris service here, we could... More

The food was exquisite. Elegant, yet relaxed dinner. 1 star Michelin rated restaurant. I would not wear jeans here. Wine comes with the meal.

Eating well in Paris on a Monday night can be difficult with the 35 hour week. Le Celadon meets the challenge perfectly. A quiet and comfortable dining room with good service makes the best setting. Again I recommend starting here on arrival in Paris as it is attached to the hotel & means all you have to do is unpack & dress (if you wish) after checking in. I think the food proved as good as anywhere else I ate (and that is excellent) & the service was most pleasant indeed.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
