The walls are covered in frescos that were painted in the early 1900s which add to the charm of the small restaurant which only has roughly 15 tables. Our... More

I am not a person used to gastronomical food. I've never eaten at a renouned table. I have simple tastes and am easily satisfied. I'm giving this rating for the service. The seating wasn't the best I had (just at the door and with a bit of an air current). It is a tight and rather noisy place without any... More

Excellent restaurant with a very nice menu, fresh food, very precise and tasty cuisine. The only drawback is that you need to have the full menu (start+main+desert) , which is a bit too much. The fish/meat is top quality and very well cooked, with very interesting mix of Asian and French flavours (with respect to the season)

Located outside of the busy tourist area, Le Buissson Ardent is worth the metro ride from whatever area of Paris you are located in. It's just steps away from the Jussieu stop. A lovely small bistro, with the front room decorated with old painted panels, the originals from the building. We received a warm welcome. The reasonably priced red wines... More

Like the room and the feel of this unpretentious restaurant in the Latin Quarter. Great menu and delicious deserts. Casual as a bistro, but a lot of originality and exotic touches.

This is a good solid choice for an evening of reliable food. It is in a good location, easily accessible though not in the tourist trap centre. The welcome was warm and the service efficient and friendly. Lovely amuse bouche of nicely flavoured creamy soup. Wine choices were interesting, not a large selection but well chosen and affordable. Food was... More

The front of the restaurant is atmospheric in the evening but very crowded. As we wanted a bit more privacy and space the helpful waiter gave us a table at the back of the restaurant. We had some very well executed classic dishes (duck with chocolate sauce and some kind of pot au feu with wonderful crunchy vegetables and bone... More

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
