Decent food

After reading all the reviews I was dead set on coming here and although the food was fine, it wasn't what I was expecting.

We were encouraged to try this bistro for dinner one night by a friend who lived in Paris for 3 years. It was his favorite restaurant. We are glad we went. It is a small, charming restaurant located in a fabulous neighborhood to walk around and drink and bar hop. The food was traditional French food. The menu is fresh... More

I ate here recently while in Paris with my partner and family. The restaurant was a short walk from our hotel in Saint-Germain and is located conveniently off the main road. The restaurant it's self is cosy so expect to be seated close to your fellow diners, however this is not uncommon for Paris. The food was excellent, with a... More

The restaurant is on Rue Princesse in St.Germaine and is the perfect place for a truly French bistro experience. Tables close together, very home cooked country style food. Daily specials on the chalk board. Reasonable pricing. Great atmosphere and good service. Not a place to rush, so relax, take your time and savour the food. Went there twice for dinner... More

Visited this restaurant for an evening meal with friends. Lovely local food made by local people. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our meals were all excellent and not expensive. The portion size was very generous.

My husband and I live in Paris, and out of all the restaurants in the city, I'd say this is the one we frequent the most - both as a couple and with groups of friends or family. On Rue Princesse, we're always greeted with smiles and cheerfulness. The menu is printed and there are also daily specials on the... More

The owners of our rented apartment recommended this place. We knew that it was small and that it would be crowded. It was also very hot out so we expected the crowded open air quarters to be hot too. Aside from the accomadations, we found the food to be fabulous. I read that some (a very small number) of diners... More

We dined here on the recommendation of a friend who formerly lived in Paris. The food was excellent. The bilingual staff was friendly and helpful. The location was excellent, and near many other restaurants and shops. It was well-priced, and we would definitely dine there again.

Thanks to all the great reviews we dined here at the end of July'15. The food was very good and more of a country French style. The atmosphere is nice and it's pretty casual. Service was good. I think French servers are either warm and friendly or efficient and not friendly. You just have to accept it.dinner for two with... More

Just visited the restaurant this evening (31st July 2015). Had visited several times over the years. Alway eat there when I come to Paris. Food always been good. Had the duck fillet. This time there was virtually no duck meat (5%) only duck fat which I could not eat. Said this to proprietor. His response was well it's duck what... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
