The only thing missing was paper tablecloths so the waiter could write the bill. This utterly charming, classic Bistrot has few tables and they are close together. The only language I heard inside, other than me, was French. Service was very friendly and efficient. I had sliced avocado with a generous helping of crab meat as a starter, and boeuf... More

Plus, they're lovely people! Most nights--they're open 7 days-- you can snag a table if you show up early BUT you will get better service and a better table if you book ahead. The chicken is to die for. The wine is good and inexpensive. It's tiny but the proprietor is very gracious and makes you feel welcome. (Well, I... More

ok so my grandma was Russian and not French and did not make the world's best boeuf bourguignon...but if she was a great French cook , this warm and friendly bistrot's version Of this classic French comfort food dish would rival grandma's, This is the gold standard. The house red complements this dish perfectly. Top it off with their home... More

Just dress casually.....as if you were going to a pub somewhere.....understand that you will be close to others eating their meals.....and, then enjoy some of the best, freshest (non-industrial) product that you will find in Paris...and for an excellent price. The father and son that run the show have a really good handle on the operation, the focus is on... More

We had the most amazing lunch here. The menu is only in French. The waiter/ owner was very helpful and explained everything. We ordered a carafe of the house red which was nice and drinkable. We started with the foie gras salad, smoked sausage, fish quenelles and duck with orange sauce. The salad was well dressed and came with blanched... More

amazing food and staff and a cute little place. when i saw it had bad reviews i thought... how?! but i see they are from 2011. I can assure you that in 2013-2014 i have eaten here almost ten times and it is consistently good. The poulet fermier is delicious and the gratin dauphinois is probably the best i've had,... More

Had our second wonderful dinner of this trip at Le Bistro d'Henri last night. I can attest to the superbness of three dishes - two of which I had and two of which my husband had (we repeated each other on one of these dishes): the amazing beef bourgignon, the blanquette de veau, and the filet de bar (sea bass)... My wife and I came to this restaurant knowing that we had a show to catch an 1 1/2 hour later. They were very accommodating to our schedule and served us great food in a timely manner. We stumbled through our conversational French which our waiter seemed to enjoy and helped us along. We highly recommend this restaurant!

A small, modest place with simply wonderful cuisine and a very pleasant and accommodating staff. I enjoyed a pork chop (not something I would typically order) in an orange-infused sauce that was nothing short of magnificent. Scalloped potatoes accompanied it. I started with the escargot, but I saw the pate coming out and I almost ordered a second appetizer. For... More

This was our first meal in Paris and we couldn't have asked for a better welcome. The restaurant is very small inside, but as we waited, the owner gave us plates of french meats as we waited. When we finally sat we were overwhelmed by not only the large menu but the large selection of specials. If you are a... More
