Great food, atmosphere and service

We were there for lunch on a cold, rainy day so the warm welcome from the owner and the chef started us off in the right mood. A very small place, you will be seated close to other diners if the place is busy, but we had lots of room this day. Service was just right, menus are available in... read more

This is a tiny bistro where it is recommended to book in advance. Immediately when you enter the place there is a nice and warm atmosphere. The food is well cooked, nice and traditional French food, far away from moder fancy nouvelle cuisine. The owner has a good sence of humor and is very friendly. We will defenitively be back!

It was the second time visiting Le Bistrot d'Henri. It was Sat evening, 24 feb and we had a reservation for 20:00. The food was fine. So was the atmosphere and the service in the begginiong. But at 21:30- 21:30, it was obvious that they were pushing things make us finish dinner faster. The final stroke came at 22:00 when... More

Came from recommendation from a friend in Reston who knows the owner. What can I say.....outstanding meal and I want to come back. We loved everything we ate....it varies and just go and enjoy yourself! Very small....reserve before you go. Well worth it no matter where you are staying. Will definitely cone back.

This tiny restaurant in the rue Princesse near the Mabillon Metro is surrounded by bars and a museum and well hidden from the occasional pedestrian. But it had been found this evening by a mix of tourists and locals who were delighted by a large menu selection of traditional cuisine which was prepared and presented superbly by the chef. Mine... Having stumbled upon it just before opening for dinner service we had no expectations and were pleasantly surprised. The intimate dining room was was full of ex-pats, not too many locals, but the service was friendly, diners seemed happy, the food was good and the prices were reasonable. A good option in the area.

We visited this small intimate bistro after a pre-dinner drink at the nearby O'Neil bar (on the street parallel to Rue Princesse). It offers a comprehensive list of courses and a small wine list with options for all budgets. Surprisingly, there aren't any fixed-price menus but prices are very reasonable for the quality on offer. We chose a sea bass... More

Have eaten here twice during our yearly visit to Paris in January 2015..As we do every year. The place is a cozy local bistro ,crowded with locals and tourists.Classical French dishes ,excellent quality and service. The menu is extensive for such a small place, easy going and no rush. not a place for diets and fancy nouvelle cuisine..highly highly recommended.Reservation is a... Small and cosy French restaurant with a fairly extensive menu that goes well beyond the staples. Food was fresh, good quality, well cooked - the entire place is tiny so you can see the chefs at work. Service was efficient and friendly, and the meal was exceptionally good value for central Paris. Bustling atmosphere with some large groups, but despite... More

Slightly off the beaten path of the big streets of Paris, this tiny restaurant has some of the finest selection of foods, best service, and overall the most wonderful atmosphere of any place I've eaten in Europe. The chocolate mousse it exquisite.

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
