Many restaurants are closed on Sunday, so we were happy to find this authentic French bistro for dinner. Le Bistrot d'Henri is small, charming, and the food is delicious! You are greeted by the owner and seated by his wife. Daily specials are on the board and include fresh seasonal plates, such as the white asparagus we ordered, served with... More

It was a Thursday night at about 8:30pm and the place was packed. Not a seat available and they don't take reservations. Another reviewer stated that the place was filled with tourists but we found just the opposite. It was filled with locals some of whom seemed to be loyal customers to Henri as they gave the French Double Kiss... More

That this place receives the accolades it does-cramped, dirty, filled with tourists-Parisiens probably know better. All the food was awful, 4 different entrees for 4 people and none of us ate. We didn't even bother to return the food-it was clear this is the quality and type of food they serve. If you are from somewhere that has restaurants other... More

we loved the ambience of this restaurant! Just looking at it inside reminds you of what you picture as the perfect French bistro. Even better, the food and wine were wonderful.

Bistro d"Henri was suggested by our concierge as he was a friend of the owner. We found it to be a great place for dinner. I had seafood and my wife had the chateuabriand, I have never seen her finish a meal this size before but she loved it and commented how awesome it was ( Quite a compliment from... More

We were there for lunch on a cold, rainy day so the warm welcome from the owner and the chef started us off in the right mood. A very small place, you will be seated close to other diners if the place is busy, but we had lots of room this day. Service was just right, menus are available in... More

This is a tiny bistro where it is recommended to book in advance. Immediately when you enter the place there is a nice and warm atmosphere. The food is well cooked, nice and traditional French food, far away from moder fancy nouvelle cuisine. The owner has a good sence of humor and is very friendly. We will defenitively be back!

It was the second time visiting Le Bistrot d'Henri. It was Sat evening, 24 feb and we had a reservation for 20:00. The food was fine. So was the atmosphere and the service in the begginiong. But at 21:30- 21:30, it was obvious that they were pushing things make us finish dinner faster. The final stroke came at 22:00 when... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
